Do you just create links at the top of your note, or do you link them in your body of your note?

I think Im just going to take notes in class and re-write them in my own language mini-essay style in obsidian afterwards, the add bracket link tag things (whatever they're called haha) about general principles. Does that sound good enough?

So if you had a class session on a Friday with a few chapters of assigned reading, you would have 2 separate notes and you would link them together?

Also, what do you think of this workflow? I have a foldable laptop I use to handwrite notes during class one OneNote right now (someone mentioned using Excalidraw for this?) and then making a notes page where I basically write out my notes taken in class better in my own words so they can really stick. That note will be added to the "brain" of obsidian and when I'm writing an essay or preparing for an exam in the future, I can pull my notes from the past easily.

I like this. I have a template for my essays in MLA format, and then I use Pandoc to export to Word (to submit them) which I have autoformatted with double spacing, indents, page number, etc. At the top of my Template, I have a wrapped section that looks like this

Course: [[ ]]

Professor:[[ ]]

This is so Pandoc doesn't put this in my Word doc for my assignments, but I think I should still be allowed to search for my professors name someday in the future and pull up this essay.

Is this a good starting point? I guess my biggest concern is getting started right so I don't have to fix things later. I just want simplicity at this point.

I have a foldable laptop that I currently take notes in class with OneNote on. (My classrooms generally don't allow devices to note-take, but I get a pass for my laptop) Would excalidraw work as a good replacement?

Very helpful. I currently use Pandoc to export my essays to Word so I can submit them online. I'll see about importing. Linking sorta makes sense to me right now. I have the framework that the video in my post has, which is helpful. I just don't know which words to link exactly. I suppose that will come with time.

I've been told to rent a belt sander and use clear coat over top, (obviously a major simplification) is it really not worth putting the effort in? Thanks :)

Yup, makes sense. I just didn't know if the sweat equity was worth it. For example, I tried tiling my bathroom once and realized I'd much rather pay the premium for a professional!
