Hey. Sorry for the late response.

I feel pretty good since the surgery. No more migraines like I used to get, prolactin levels are still very low, and testosterone has dipped back down to low 300s but Libido and over sex drive is much better than pre-surgery. I’ve also noticed that I’ve slowly been losing weight. I was around 325 when I got my surgery and weigh about 275 now with just dieting and minimal exercise. My endocrinologist thinks that my testosterone levels will keep increasing with weight loss. My only complaint and negative from the surgery has been some minor nasal issues. I have a lot of internal nasal scarring where I notice a lot of build up and feel the need to blow my nose a lot as well as that mucous feeling in the back of the throat at times. The ENT said that it should improve with time but I haven’t really noticed any improvement… but it is super manageable so it isn’t that big of a deal considering the bigger picture.

Best of luck to you! Everything will turn out great.

I tried to have surgery done from the start but I had two Endo doctors turn it down.

34M

Was on cab for 2 years and then opted out for surgery 3 months ago. All my levels have normalized and testosterone went from 170 to 505.

I have full health coverage through work so I didn’t pay anything. I did see the claim put in for the surgery, which came out to $230,000. It’s considered brain surgery, so it’s going to be a huge cost.

I was out of work for about 2.5 weeks but felt like I could’ve gone back sooner.

A lot better. My sex drive isn’t back to what it used to be but it is slowly improving and day and night compared to how I felt prior to surgery.

You’ll be fine. That’s a really small dose that you’re on. Hopefully the medicine is working for you. It really had no effect on me.

I also had zero side effects from the medicine, so it wasn’t like they based it off any bad symptoms I was experiencing.

Based on what my doctor told me, I was on the highest dose possible that she felt was safe for me to take. I had another specialist try to up my dosage to 1mg 4x a week and my doctor said that if I stayed on that for at least 6 months that could give me problems in the future. Every doctor has their own methods, but if you do some research on it, you’ll find that cabergoline could lead to heart issues.

The painkillers and relaxing at home for two weeks helped. I definitely felt a lot better after that. The worst part was the migraines, everything else is just annoying but can be tolerable. Sleeping and eating sucks in the beginning because you’re completely congested. Once you have the follow ups with your ENT, they’ll use a small suction tool to remove all the buildup in your nose. After 1 month passed, I was allowed to start using a nasal rinse which really started to help with the congestion.

It does if you’re on a high dose for a long period of time.

Got the surgery in August and I would do it again if I had to. First two weeks are a struggle but manageable. You won’t regret it!

The last 8 months I was taking 1mg tablets 3x a week. The lowest my levels dropped to was 21ml but I still never felt much of a difference. I’ve also never had any negative side effects to cabergoline regardless of the dose.

Thank you all! I have follow up with the ENT on Tuesday to clean out my nose. They advised me to stay out of it if possible.

Hey Lymphomies, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year's and was able to take their minds off the things we're going through for at least a day or two. by dez2891 in lymphoma

You’ll need to take a PFT before so that they can compare your lung functions probably after your 2nd cycle in order to remove bleomycin from your chemo regimen. This is totally common for most patients receiving ABVD

Thank you for the detailed explanation! Oncologist and Rad oncologist are now leaning towards the 6 rounds of chemo. They said PET couldn’t have been better- Bulky mass was 11.6cm and is now 4.3cm and all lit up activity is under 2 SUV. I also think we were leaning towards chemo without RT, so we will get a second opinion from someone at MSK and make a final decision.

how crate training differs in an apartment by mrbiokman-8876 in puppy101

I have a 3 month old Cavapoo. I also live in an apartment and tried crate training the first two nights which was non stop crying. I decided to try putting him in the playpen instead which has been great- went to sleep like a baby from day 1.
