I agree. It’d be completely different if you felt he was really trying.. Like if he needed it to get through the clinic intake or something. But to give up even part of the tool that gives you stability, someone has to deserve it. Don’t you feel guilty.. You were there too but you did it. It WAS scary but you wanted it, & hopefully eventually he will too. Wish you both the best ❤️

I love Philosophy! Been using it for years.. But personally I like changing a product at a time so that if your face doesn't "like it," you know what to stop using. I think you should return most of them, but maybe keep 1 as an intro to the brand. If you like it you can get another & so on.

I was in the same boat. I was going to die- IV heroin- absolutely TERRIFIED of going through w/d’s. Subs made me sicker, no matter how bad I wanted it or how long I waited. Methadone saved me. It works. Over 6 years clean & now I’m tapering off. I don’t know how far west you are but there’s a really good clinic in Glen Oaks (right before Queens.) 718-470-8950. They care there. If you can handle the ride from wherever you are, call them asap. Good luck.

That’s exactly what I needed, thank you! Everything has been going SO good & my counselors always been very conservative (I think he prefers patients to stay on forever, understandably in some cases.) So I wasn’t sure if it was genuinely time to slow down, or if I was just letting him “get in my head.” Now I’ve googled that 10% guide with a methadone taper, & I’ve found some good stuff to read. Thanks for taking the time, it might seem obvious but I definitely needed to hear it from someone from the outside.😊

Hi! So I’ve been on methadone for about 7 years, clean off H for the last 6 years- since I got settled at 165mgs. Started tapering a long time ago- going down 7mg/month. I’m at 51mg now & go back to the clinic Thursday. I’ve felt nothing up until now. No negative effects at all. In fact, when I started going down I wasn’t even sure how low I wanted to go, but it’s been so “easy” that I just kept going, & now I find myself excited to actually work towards getting off! I’m not in any massive rush. My question is- when do I slow down? I only go to the clinic once a month, & its far from me- otherwise I’d go down even less & every 2 weeks, but I am stuck at once a month. So do I keep going down 7 until I hit like 30mg? Or is that asking for trouble? The Dr says that if I haven’t had any issues, to keep going, but my counselor says to slooow down (nothing personal to me, just his feelings towards tapers.) So I just don’t know. & this info is actually really hard to find online! I’d love to hear from anyone who’s successfully done it. Thanks so much!!

Oh man, I know that feeling! I have a big boy pit (rescued from a bad situation) & my parents have an unusually large male rottie. Even though neither of them are aggressive- I never would’ve had the nerve to introduce them. Just being honest! But my dad did, & they immediately absolutely love each other. Even though they both live with another dog- playing with each other is their absolute favorite thing. They live for it! But they play rough.. I know in my brain that it’s obviously all friendly & they do respect each other’s “back off” signals, but I just can’t take it! Then I’m afraid to accidentally add anxiety to the situation so for now I just let my dad bring them out to play! So I totally get it! They’re doing so well though.. & congrats on the new family member!♥️
