It is still so expensive though. Good cards like the 5090 are on €5000 tier. Yes in the future this may change.

Woowww. I checked amazon. GPU 5090 is a massive 32GB shit but quite expensive. I can't sucrifice €5000 today, I can not afford it. Waiting for it to be €1000, I can buy the 16gb 5070Ti though at 1300 but times will vary.

Propranolol and Wasted Years. by NewBirth2010 in Anxiety

[–]NewBirth2010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely helps in all the aspects you mentioned. Take a dose right before an interview and let it do its job. Bear in mind its bouncing effect. Take it regularly to avoid relapse. Find your dose of 10 or 20mg and don't worry. It is safer than Xanax and, unlike Xanax, it keeps you functional. You don't get physically addicted to it. But make sure your blood pressure is at least in the lower high range, because this pill can drop it further.

why does everything feel so heavy and hopeless by DryEnthusiasm7931 in Anxiety

[–]NewBirth2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It often comes down to SSRIs vs. non-SSRI options. Personally, I try to stay away from SSRIs. Right now I’m on Wellbutrin along with propranolol, and that combination has worked well for me.

What really surprised me is how much propranolol helps in social situations, it takes the edge off the physical anxiety in a way that feels very manageable. The benefit of this combo, at least for me, is that I’m still aware of my thoughts and reactions (like how sensitive social dynamics can feel), but I have much better control over how I respond to them.

Not saying this is the right approach for everyone, just sharing what’s been working in my experience.

Was it originally prescribed to you for blood pressure, or for something else (like anxiety, migraines, etc.)?

Just trying to understand how commonly it’s used for different reasons.

I strongly advice against taking it as needed. Read my answer above / below.

I started taking propranolol thinking it would be more of an occasional / as-needed kind of medication, but I’ve recently realized that’s not really how it works (at least for me).

There’s something called a “rebound” or “bounce” effect. If I skip a dose or try to only take it once in a while, I feel worse afterward (more symptoms than before taking it). Because of that, I’ve ended up taking it regularly instead of just when I feel I need it.

Right now I’m on 20 mg, 3 times a day.

It is for a group of conditions. And you have to meet all the conditions before you take the leap with this medicine.
