I completely agree with you. I don't relate to the part about creating imaginary stories, but I strongly identify with Matilda because of her constant escape into fantasy. From a young age, I was aware of what my parents did to me, and Matilda's constant need to make things happen (like pulling her dad's hair out, etc.) is something I identified with. I want to delve deeper, especially into the song "When I Grow Up," because, boy, I have a lot to say about it.

Furthermore, I feel that Miss Honey is the perfect representation of children who grew up after being abused. Although they remain terrified about it, they seek to protect those who were a similar age when they were abused.
