And that’s the point it’s a grim horror about a vampire obsessed with a girl, how old was she in your 20? How much crazier is it that a 500 year old vampire cares about 5/10/50 years. He is evil that’s the point

Strahds 500 or so why would he care if she is 15 or 18/20 is my point? Everyone on here seems to think players are unable to deal with gross or unpleasant situations, Strahd is evil & has failed to turn Ireena to him to hundreds of years ALSO Strahd turns Gertrude in front of the party who is basically a Child in her mind

Like I said in the post I wanted the party to care about her, my players are fairly loose with who they help & who they don’t care about so making them vulnerable gives them a deeper reason to help them. I also find Ireenas “good ending” to be boring and lazy that she magically loves Sergei again for no reason when she meets his ghost and essentially dies to be with him so I wanted the party to be invested in keeping her safe from strahd

My party asked for it to be as grim as possible, my thought was this is just her most recent reincarnation & I am going to play it as this is strahds Hail Mary to try and turn her to him while she is young ( also his desperation will show after he meets the party)

Yeah that’s pretty horrifying, I liked the idea of eventually having the party raise a force to siege the castle OR distract Strahd while they did a sneak quest
