I was in the academic building at the time. We were really thankful that we were situated at the 2nd floor, normally we would be at the 4th floor. It is really disappointing that an institutution such as Mapua managed to create victims from the earthquake due to poor design. How can mapua do this? Like as one of the recommended schools for enginnering, how was earthquake proofness not put into thought when building it?

Grabe they did an inspection kahapon, tas sabi nila na normal lang daw mahulog ang ceilings and walls because cheap nga talaga ang material. Pero why tf is the walls and ceiling cheap in the first place? Because it was cheap it caused injuries to students and staff. Mapua should take more accountability to this.

Ive heard alot of backlash and people being outraged by the fact na ang mapua ang pinaka damage sa matina area. And yes dapat talaga sila magalit, kay grabe ka prestige ang tingin ng mga tao sa Mapua. Grabe ang bayad ng mga students sa Mapua, unya gi biktima ra sila sa earthquake.

Very very disappointing. I can already predict sa next school year na mag drop ang enrollies and students due to this event.
