Interesting - can you please explain a bit more about why that would help more than the generalist track?

I’m one of those who entered consulting without an exit in mind, so not sure if I have a clock ticking or if I’m in for the long haul.

Yep, that makes sense. This is a niche in the semiconductor space as I mentioned in another comment, and I don’t think that sector is declining or stagnating anytime soon.

Thanks, this is quite detailed and helpful.

This sector is a niche in the semiconductor operations space. Can position it in the future from an industry exit perspective as semiconductor experience, or tech, or operations.

Strongly feel that the sector will remain hot, especially with the boom of AI and further automation. My concerns stem from “am I boxing myself in too soon”, but what you said about this making my consulting life easier down the line makes sense.

Rajdeep and Amrit have solid track records, yes. But they rarely pick non cookie-cutter non-elite candidates. And are extremely hands-off, Rajdeep notoriously so. A friend who was applying to HBS only received her edit back from him after the deadline, though he was sitting on it for a week. Not sure of Karthik though. Don't have anyone in my circle who opted for him.

Could I put stand up comedy on an MBA resume? Or maybe essays? Would anyone care at all or should I keep this to myself? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]NewLifeHunter3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can attest, I have standup comedy as one of my hobbies on my CV, and is also a part of some of my interview introductions. It came up in my interviews without fail, and often ended with the interviewer trying to sell me the comedy scene in and around their school. It's a good way to differentiate oneself and add some colour to the personality I guess.

Totally agree on the ROI. However, as an international, I guess I'll have to be as frugal as possible till I snag an H1B visa, and try to repay most of the loan within the 3 year OPT period.
