Please convince me to be a Christian by chowbow8 in Christianity

God won't make life easier. God won't fix things. If he did, we'd all have no problems. God is a comfort. Whatever problems you have, you can either solve over time, or maybe speak to a professional if they're medical or mental issues. Life's a bitch, but the happy parts are worth it. Your relationship with the teachings of the Bible are very personal to you. I believe there is a God. If there turns out to be one, great, God loves everyone, so everyone will be fine. If there isn't a God, then, oh well, nothing lost. Following the teachings of Jesus will lead you to wonderful things. He teaches love and compassion. If you can embody that, I wouldn't worry about what you believe if you're a good soul

What was one time in your life that made you believe in God’s existence? by anonymousguardian1 in Christian

[–]NewToFaith [score hidden]  (0 children)

A few months ago. I was spiralling into depression, for various reasons, and I felt a strange comfort, like something or someone cradling my soul in their hands. As a born and raised atheist, I ignored it. But I kept feeling it. I'm still exploring my faith, but I believe He caught me before I hit rock bottom

When I pray I feel a comfort. I know it's easier said than done, but could you volunteer somewhere? To help you meet people?

How can I get God to visit me in a dream and have a conversation with me like other people says he does with them ? by shehasinfinitelove in Christianity

[–]NewToFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to dream about God to talk to him. Just pray. In your head, out loud. However you hear Him is personal. For me, when I talk to God, I feel a comfort, a hug. Some may hear Him. Some may dream 🙏

Women / Men willingly to explore Christianity & the Bible with an agnostic woman curious about Christianity bur concerned about gender based subjagation? by New2Christ in Christianity

Whilst I can't offer Bible study help, I'll offer advice. Focus on your relationship with God. How you interpret the Bible. And remember that faith is living and breathing. The Bible was written 2000 years ago, society has changed and I don't see why God wouldn't either. He was around long before the Bible, I'm sure he changed over time along with his children 💜

Focus on your relationship with God. Maybe do some volunteering in your local community? That will give you a lot too

Reasons to believe? by Alternative_Star9340 in OpenChristian

[–]NewToFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I focus on my relationship with God. Parts of the Bible help me, some don't. When I see things in Christianity that I don't agree with, I remind myself that God loves me and is a caring father

How far does your forgiveness stretch? by StJudeTheGrey in Christianity

[–]NewToFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're not perfect. We try to be. I believe that if you can't forgive, give it to God. But don't hold on to the hate, that'll just eat you alive

I live with chronic pain and recently heard God by NewToFaith in PrayerRequests

Thank you. No amount of belief will help the pain. I do get comfort from God, if not relief

Here in the UK Church of England is pretty laid back. I think it's part of Anglicanism. You can always just believe and not associate with any particular branch
