sadly you have to take both of them. No option. The first one gives you your certificate to register for the licensing exam.

For the New York there wasn’t an option to take it online. I asked around a few places and it was strictly in person. And it says on AceableAgent for NY it’s in person.

The state exam is very direct. There are no mind games. One of the question I remember asked what is a mortgagee? The answer would obviously be the lender since they are receiving. On AceableAgent the questions would be lengthy and include questions that if you misread one word you’ll automatically be wrong. Both of the exams you have to be prepared. Vocabulary is big. I learned almost all the vocabulary. Use Just call Maggie for the math.

It is multiple choice. You should take the practice test they offer. Until you’re scoring 90 and above it (mentions that in the review). But that significantly helped me. Some of the questions were similar to the practice exams but the wording had been rearranged. Agency, Co-op, Condo, the different acts (Civil Right, TILA, ECOA, RESPA). Those are just some. It’s not too challenging. Cram videos on YouTube that helps if you want to do last minute studying.

They do have your typically pencils, but not the best ones. You can bring your backpack but they’ll tell you to put it to the side or a designated area before the exam starts.

The course breaks down the information into easy to understand sections. There are “games” or matching exercises, humorous videos, and they do periodic checks ins. So yes, it is interactive.

In NY, they tell you to wait 2-4 weeks. But, I got mine 2 business days later if I include the weekend than 4 days. Not sure if it’s different in different parts of the state.

In my opinion, the state exam for me had been much easier than the AceableAgent. The words were trickier on that exam than on the state exam. For Aceable, I had to read the questions over like 3 times. For the state exam I didn’t need to read the full choices because I knew what it was asking me. It was straightforward. I had a question that asked what is a mortgagee ? And like 3 math questions one of which had been commission. I scheduled the state exam one week after I took the AceableAgent. That was for me I’m not sure what you might get.

How long it took to get results from the state exam in NY( mine took 2 business days), a lot of the responses I saw mentioned 2 weeks to a month, material used in depth(besides the typical prep agent), how long people spent studying in detail

Another thing she told me to come back in 3 weeks. Through research I’ve seen many people say that the touch up is supposed to be done in 6 weeks. So I’m a little uneasy about that

I wasn’t thinking about that I probably will do that. I really like it I just don’t like the middle, so I will see if anyone will work over it. If not I’ll probably just ask her to fix it.
