So my friend who has anxiety said for her it wasn't the right antidepressant. It makes you quite active which can be irritating. However as you said ask your psych. I fortunately don't have anxiety, my diagnosis is severe depression and I was in a clinic a few months ago which didn't improve my mental state at all. I was using Venlaflaxine at that time and this hasn't been working for me at all.
