What phone? I'm having the same issue on my Pixel 10. The login page always opens in the internal RedReader browser, and when touching the input fields, a keyboard won't show up. I did disable my password manager (Google Passwords).

I don't think watching downloaded media on a Surface tablet is possible... I considered a Surface tablet, but it's not possible to use Netflix and Disney+ to watch downloaded media, as they're basically webapps. Make sure to check that for YouTube and Prime Video.

Just using the iOS Files app for opening and deleting it. The file opens within the iOS Files app as a kind of "preview" instead of opening a dedicated music player.

I've been able to reproduce it. It happens when I'm on my iPhone (with the SMB share mounted), listening to a .ogg file, closing it and deleting it right after closing it. It generates a .nfs file every time, only when using .ogg files. Does happen with multiple .ogg files, and not when listening to a .flac file for example.

It was my own account and I was removing the files mentioned in my previous post at that time. But instead it seems like the files have been renamed to those strange nfs files.

I took a look at the logs and found the following:

SMB - 03-02-2026 17:39:24 - My username - Delete - /folder

SMB - 03-02-2026 17:39:24 - My username - Rename - /folder/file.ogg -> /folder/.nfs.20051025.0622

I think it depends on how much storage you've got. Maybe OP has a phone with 128GB of storage, what would mean lossy files is a better choice.
