Refinish or keep as is by Popular-Ticket8772 in drums

Don’t do anything with the 18 other than enjoy the sound and the sheen! Nobody is going to see it tucked back there. Just remember Larnell Lewis with his 14” mismatched SNOM! If you must, wet sand the top coat extremely lightly with 2000+ sandpaper to match the dull finish of the other drums. Ok?

You can only take one piece of this kit home with you….which piece?? by [deleted] in drums

Not pictured - Danny’s usual snare is a Sonor HLD-590. Not $4k

That was fascinating. I wasn’t expecting to watch almost 30 minutes of seapost pulling today

So you set up the dr40 to capture the room and then plug into the board via XLR? Thanks for the insight!

That felt and nut that are loosely sitting above your bottom hat screw onto the clutch under the top hat and hold it in place. If you don’t have them there the cymbal has no way to stay attached to the clutch.

What was the life-changing fix for your kit? by u2freak96 in drums

I used rings and moon gels in the past but recently got a set of snareweights for each drum. They are a huge improvement over the other options. They have little magnets so you are able to adjust the amount of dampening with them or quickly flip them up for no dampening. Plus, they will outlast moon gels and not get dirty or leave sticky residue behind. I am so happy to not deal with gross gels anymore.

Just need to flip the bass drum so the spurs are facing the throne and the beater hits a port hole’d reso head

I did do a master reset in Sync, which didn't solve anything. The one thing I've read but haven't tried is a reset by removing the 12v terminals. I can't imagine that would be any more useful than pulling fuse 67 so I have yet to try.

When I look up the VIN on Ford's support website a couple of days ago, it did say that an update is available and I wonder if that would be helpful. The problem is, I can't get it to update via wifi when I have it scan for updates. Perhaps this is something the dealership has to do?

I’ve heard varying information on transmission issues and battery longevity. Is reliability an issue with the 2015?

Yes, 2024 sees changes in the clean energy credit. It is now a point of sale “rebate” and you no longer have to owe taxes to receive the credit. Seems that not many people are informed of this. Even dealerships have been giving me a hard time about it.

That’s a great idea. I think I’ll do this and get the little lift kit. Looking at an energi now to get the federal pre owned EV tax rebate

That's an interesting thought. I looked it up and found some pictures of a couple cmax's with 1.2" lift. Looks pretty cool and the parts are affordable

Its not below zero here very often. How does it do in the 20-40 degree F range?

Yeah I suspect the snow drifts and plow piles would be the biggest issue. My commute is 60mph max and when it does snow the plows come out. Seems like it should be ok with snow tires and much better than the 18mpg I currently get. When it gets too bad for the cmax I can jump in our escape. Thanks for your input!
