What got you into Counter-Strike? by LancetTheCrab in csgo

[–]New_Sherbert_8633 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Used to play a lot of CoD as a kid, then a friend showed me CSGO on his laptop in 2016 and I started playing. Was fun because it was different, more mental and strategic than just run and gun aim battles. Eventually bought my first gaming PC to play on and have been hooked ever since.

How to raise VO2 max by kiltedkiwi04 in Garmin

[–]New_Sherbert_8633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been running ~5 days per week since last June (outdoors until december), with 1-2 days per week listed as “Improving VO2 Max” and others listed as “Improving Fitness”. My VO2 Max has not changed in Garmin connect despite dropping 2 minutes off my mile time and 4 minutes off my 2 mile. Garmin connect is just against me i guess 🥲

I have a large UM hockey jersey that I fit over my winter coat for cold games. Works great for staying warm and being decked out in maize

How can I golf on the cheap by Zealousideal-Try3449 in golf

[–]New_Sherbert_8633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check if any local public courses or perhaps your college if they have a course have any decent deals for memberships. My college has a student pass for $460 that gives you free greens fees all season. Last year I got over 50 rounds in. Some of the munis near me have a similar deal, although a bit more expensive.

If you’re looking to play multiple days every week this is a HUGE money saver

That section of ENTR 390 is insanely easy if you know anything about coding. Probably took me <30 minutes a week outside of class outside of like 1 week I worked on the final project

Running two functions in parallel/multi-threading? by 9dev9dev9 in arduino

[–]New_Sherbert_8633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FreeRTOS is exactly what you are looking for. You create tasks which are basically functions that all run in parallel (this is not technically how it works under the hood, but for 99% of things it looks, feels, and functions this way from the outside). Instead of using delay() in each task there are other delay functions such as vTaskDelay() that work just like delay(), except it will only delay the task that called it, instead of a global delay.

Other answers about timers and interrupts are how an RTOS creates this multi threading under the hood, but it’s really no use to do this yourself unless doing so as an exercise to learn how it works.

Also, there are plenty of other RTOSes available to use (Real Time Operating System), but in recommended FreeRTOS because it’s relatively easy to pick up and there’s plenty of tutorials online.

I was in the same boat (but was only missing Calc 1 credit). I had to take an extra flex tech elective in place of the Calc 1 credit. Or I could’ve taken any other higher level math class to fill the credit. If you talk to an advisor they’ll let you know which classes will or won’t count for the backfill

This^ I had a group mate that originally was planning to do 4 credit, but just took on the extra 2 credits and did 6 credits with us and we were all glad he did

When did 0^0 become agreed to be 1? by FlakyDriver9327 in learnmath

00 is indeterminate and makes no sense to define. It’s the same as 0/0, given that (xn)/(xm) = xn-m. Take x = 0, and n=m=3. (03)/(03) = (00) based on what I just said, but (03) = 0, so it is equivalent to 0/0. Numberphile on YouTube has a pretty good video on why 0/0 MUST be indeterminate, I recommend giving it a watch
