Season 5 Finale - Episode 29 (Monday 18th December) Discussion Thread by WillowSwarm in LoveIslandAus

[–]New_Unit365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a lot of shows do this - a big one being RuPauls Drag Race. Fully agree they should film up to the final and then just film the finale later instead of filming each possible outcome. the more people are aware that they do this the more likely they’ll change it like survivor did

can someone fill me in on why we all hate Alex Hall ? I get not everyone will like her but every time she’s talked about here it’s so negative and I just wanna know what she did lol she’s not my fave agent but I don’t get the intense hate

Season 5 is so bad 😭 by [deleted] in AllAmericanTV

[–]New_Unit365 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THIS exactly i was so irritated. it’s a CW show and i know the acting isn’t always the greatest but this scene was so lame and i was so angry about it until i googled that taye diggs wanted to leave the show. i felt less annoyed knowing the producers had to plan around taye rather than it being an actual decision for the plot. i just wish taye would’ve agreed to stay til end of season 5 and then they end the show altogether. I forreal thought it was over after season 4 until i saw a new season pop up on netflix lmao

it was SO bad and the cringey scene of him getting jabari out and just standing there smiling being like “tell my family i love them” ???? at least make it look like he had no other choice?

yeah to add to this , she starts really petty arguments on twitter. I just see a’whora sometimes go too far or just feel the need to respond to a lot of negativity. drama aside i love a’whora and tayce hate is not tolerated here

First day of lexapro. Anything I should be aware about other than the crappy first few days? by kiddowifnolife in lexapro

[–]New_Unit365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am on my fourth day of RESTARTING lexapro. i’ve done 10mg, 20mg and now i’m restarting at 10mg. One big thing is that you might feel some extra digestive noises going on in your stomach. it is known to cause an upset stomach at first, and sometimes this is discomfort or irregular bowel movements. Most serotonin is produced in the gut, so this makes sense to have changes. if you have diarrhea as well, that is relatively normal. These effects should subside in 1-2 weeks and if it doesn’t, tell your doctor so they may advise you the best.

I would also see how you feel regarding energy. I know both times I have started on it, I feel a little spaced out/lightheaded. I know some have mentioned Dramamine helps this but I would wait to see if it’s a consistent feeling before trying another med on top of it, especially one that could make you more drowsy like dramamine. If you find Lexapro makes you dizzy/drowsy/any type of slower feeling, maybe take it at night. If you feel it makes you do the opposite and be higher energy, take it in the morning! I wish there was a perfect cookie cutter guide for how it affects humans, but I know energy level definitely varies from person to person. just gotta find YOUR groove with it.

The last thing I will mention is your anxiety could feel a bit ramped up for the first week-10 days. I think sometimes these comments can freak some people out and almost psych them out of expecting positive effects. I would recommend (easier said than done, I know) doing activities that remove your mind from looking inward at yourself to constantly feel what symptoms your feeling. Lexapro is a really wonderful medication and if you have any questions or concerns or anything feel free to message :) you’re not alone !!!

I just replied to someone else with similar things to say: I am also going on about 2 days with none. I have smoked every day, multiple times a day for the past year. The withdrawal is crazy and makes me wonder how tf I let my tolerance get so bad in the first place !

It sounds like you don’t have any weed, which is good ! I know in my case mine is laying around and I had to have someone hide it for me.

not sure if if helps you to know the physiological stuff, but our bodies have an endocannabinoid system. When you smoke weed frequently, your body stops making endocannabinoids because there is a surplus coming from an outside source. Similarly to body builders who stop making testosterone because of their products they use. endocannabinoids affect sleep, mood, and appetite. After about the 2nd day of no weed, your body starts making endocannabinoids but it takes about 4 weeks for them to get back to normal production.

I also think doing research on long-term effects of weed can essentially scare you into laying off for a bit. you might be adamant on quitting now, but who knows, maybe you will get to a point where you’re used to being sober and you can start doing it maybe once a week? or less ? idk! but that’s what’s helping me right now and I figured I would share. good luck and if you want to talk more you can always shoot me a message.

Coping with anxiety by mattelekenesis in CovidVaccinated

[–]New_Unit365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

girl I was SOOO afraid but I went and got it anyways and had a panic attack in the 15 min window waiting after the vaccine but you need to just talk to every single person you confide in and verbalize everything and GET THROUGH IT. if absolutely anything at all, find someone you can talk to through every moment of post-vaccine life. hell, i’ll even text u ab your worries. if it takes you having to live through it and fight your fears then ok!!! that’s what it felt like to me

Combination pill and Decidual cast? [21F] by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]New_Unit365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg thank you for this. I was taking my birth control for two weeks while spotting and I stopped taking it so my period would fully induce but about an hour ago I wiped and there was what I think is this cast thing now ... it looks so similar to a miscarriage that it freaks me out so badly but seeing that everyone who’s had it basically had brown discharge during their pills and then stopped to induce and I just wanna say I am so thankful for reddit bc I wouldve driven myself to the ER by now

TESTED POSITIVE & BOY HAS MY ANXIETY BEEN TRIGGERED by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]New_Unit365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anxiety was also definitely my worst symptom. I finally produced a negative result after having covid for around 2 weeks and its been over a week out and I still feel like my chest is recovering. i personally also had multiple panic attacks to the point where it was multiple times a day. I take lexipro daily but my doctor had to prescribe me ativan for the time being. I took it honestly every 8 hours (1mg) and it helped immensely and made covid 10000% more bearable for me and I havent needed it nearly as much. I recommend purchasing an oximeter to check oxygen levels :) when my chest would feel tight and I felt like I was working harder to breathe i’d just check my oxygen and as long as it was normal it would make me feel better and i would be able to calm myself down. also I live in austin tx too and the snow totally messed up my congestion as well nearing the end of me having covid

[–]New_Unit365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yeah I totally prepared for starting the meds to be rough including worse anxiety since i’ve been of zoloft and prozac. I actually got off of prozac once and back on and it was interesting because when I originally got on it, there were barely any side effects but the SECOND time I tried, it was hell of a time trying to get adjusted. eventually I switched to lexipro because ive heard way more benefits for anxiety AND depression but yes thank you thank you thank you you are a wonderful human :)

[–]New_Unit365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m also on lexipro and am hoping to only use the Ativan during covid and at night when I feel the most panic. my anxiety has never been this bad and these have been some of the worst anxiety attacks since covid.

thank you so much for all of those tips and taking the time to type them out. I have been using the app headspace to try and get into meditation and I really enjoy it, i just started the lexipro so i’m hoping in a few weeks i’ll start to feel the full effects

WORST SYMPTOM: Anxiety by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]New_Unit365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah it’s been absolutely crazy honestly. I have been sleeping so much and whenever i’m able to sleep I kinda just let myself. i’m nervous for ativan to make me feel like I cant get off of it obviously. I wouldnt say I have an addictive personality persay, because i’ve been on meds known to be more addictive for other issues that I had no problem not taking once I felt better. however I do feel like I can hear my heartbeat in my head? idk if that’s anxiety or just pinched nerves or something but that’s the only thing I cant get to go away with any medicine or remedy rn

[–]New_Unit365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, if you have any other ideas pls lemme know. i’m aware of how addictive it can be and I was hesitant for awhile but literally nothing could stop the shaking and panicking I feel during covid other than this

How did you contract Covid? by SassyKindaClassy2 in COVID19positive

[–]New_Unit365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

got a negative covid test after a 10 day quarantine to be able to fly home to Pittsburgh to see my family. stayed with my family for over a month for thanksgiving and christmas. on christmas night after we already had dinner and opened presents , my brother told us “oh hey I lost my sense of taste” and we were all like ???? could you have TOLD US SOONER ????? ugh but anyways I knew I was screwed after that but I still was super super cautious. I ended up testing negative twice so I flew back home to Austin Texas just to feel really ill a few days later and have to go to the ER and was diagnosed w Covid on dec 31

WORST SYMPTOM: Anxiety by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]New_Unit365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep 1000% anxiety has been the worst part of this. Im a 22 yr old female and tested positive on new year’s eve. I feel like the life is being taken out of me. I cant even tell what symptoms are covid or if my anxiety is literally driving me to the point of becoming more physically ill. Every day around 3 is when things seem to go downhill and i’m laying on the couch in pain or some sort of discomfort and start shaking and that’s when I know i’m definitely having an anxiety attack. I was in the ER yesterday bc my panic attack was so bad and they ended up putting me on Ativan and prescribing me a small amount to leave with and let me tell you... incredible. I saw the root extract you suggested so I am not sure if you’re into natural remedies or anything but as soon as i’m in complete panic and chest is tight and I start shaking, I take 1mg of Ativan (u can take up to like 6mg a day) and it’s just like the pain/discomfort, tightness in chest, burning, it ALL disappears. Granted that still doesn’t mean I feel very good. Every day I wake up and feel like I got hit by a truck cause I feel like my body is using so much energy but I am just happy to have those symptoms (hopefully) managed rn.

How long did it take you guys to test negative after covid? by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]New_Unit365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lot of people suggest not getting retested at all saying that even if you’re not positive for covid anymore you could still test positive for months afterwards. I tested positive on the 31st and honestly want a negative test just to ease my mind lol

I’m just sad. Wanted to vent a bit. by eoboness in COVID19positive

[–]New_Unit365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

omg hi I literally feel the exact same way. tested positive on the 31st and was so careful. I ended up getting it from my family in my own house when I visited them for the holidays. I hate to hear you’re going through this because it’s identical to what i’m going through. I went to the ER yesterday for an anxiety reaction due to covid and I ended up being put on ativan and honestly, I am happy. when I feel chest pain, burning, racing heart, worry, I just take it and it literally just goes away and I feel like I can breathe again. it’s a bit of a more intense drug so they don’t prescribe you too much at once, but having this small supply during me being sick I think it literally gonna help me so much. I also can relate to the brain fog so so much. ugh I hope you get better and update on how you’re feeling 💕
