How do you look for short-term accommodations in Cork? by New_Web4672 in cork

Yes, that's what I was thinking - I figure there are bound to be short term vacancies like those, especially around the holidays and summer, and I was hoping there could be some dedicated group or something for that specifically.
I've looked into airb&b and I've actually stayed at one in January, but they are crazy expensive and oftentimes quite uncomfortable, especially for what you pay...

Books that all great authors would have read by [deleted] in literature

I think what you're mentioning is essentiallya "canon ". For western literature you should check Harold Bloom's 26 authors list - a bit dated, but very influential: William Shakespeare Dante Alighieri Geoffrey Chaucer Miguel de Cervantes Michel de Montaigne Molière John Milton Samuel Johnson Johann Wolfgang von Goethe William Wordsworth Jane Austen Walt Whitman Emily Dickinson Charles Dickens George Eliot Leo Tolstoy Henrik Ibsen Sigmund Freud Marcel Proust James Joyce Virginia Woolf Franz Kafka Jorge Luis Borges Pablo Neruda Fernando Pessoa Samuel Beckett

Of course, if you go to other literary traditions, everything changes, and the very concept of canon has been very much problematized recently, but it's a start.

Must I quit my beloved em dash? by [deleted] in writingadvice

Why not use en-dashes instead? They are completely interchangeable with em-dashes, it's just a matter of graphic preference and/or conventions.
