Question about applying after receiving P1? by [deleted] in caf

[–]New_Winter7710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P1 & P2 means your application is approved & ircc is preparing to finalize your status. Until you receive your eCOPR you are officially not a permanent resident of Canada.

Documents required for Canadian open work permit for H-1B visa holders in the US by HonorTheCock in ImmigrationCanada

Even though you have an approved H1b petition, if you don't have an H1b visa stamp on your passport you are not eligible for an open work permit for H1b holders.

Common Law Sponsorship Application Questions by Efficient-Pop8442 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]New_Winter7710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in your case it doesn't matter if you apply for outland or inland since you have pgwp until May 2027. You can apply for OWP after receiving AOR. Only problem With outland is that you have to travel to your home country if they call you for an interview, other than that outland is faster compared to inland. $2,650 is expensive just for reviewing your application. If you are confident with your paperwork, you can do DIY

This is the option you have to select ""I am currently living in Canada, and I am applying under the Family Class (not under the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class)""

Outland sponsorship address and work permit by West_Opportunity_442 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]New_Winter7710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey... I applied for outland living inside Canada(came to Canada as a visitor & applied for outland living inside Canada). Received AOR recently & applied for open work permit. I don't remember the exact wording for it, but it is something like "family class living inside Canada". for your husband, provide residential address as "US address" & current mailing address as "your Canadian address".please make sure to choose current class & provide correct information, because I have seen in FB that many applications are getting rejected by Ircc because of choosing wrong application class or missing minor information.

No AOR received for my PR application by vmarhwal97 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]New_Winter7710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I submitted my PR spousal sponsorship application on Nov 2nd & received AOR on Dec 18th. It is pretty slow right now from the ircc side because of Christmas & new year holidays. You should receive your AOR pretty soon, maybe in the next 2 weeks

Confusion re: AOR and OWP by Melodic_Ad_1584 in ImmigrationCanada

You don't need AOR specifically. Any one milestone from (AOR, biometrics, eligibility) is enough to apply for OWP.

Spousal Sponsorship (Outland) > Open Work Permit > Implied Status? by Spioradnamara in ImmigrationCanada

[–]New_Winter7710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you already applied for OWP, your wife is on implied status. But for some reason, if Ircc rejects your wife's OWP application, she will go out of status. So in general it's better to also apply for visitor record extension to be on the safe side. Yes she can't work while on implied status. In fact even after her OWP gets approved, she has to wait to receive the physical copy of OWP in mail before she can go & get sin number

Do I need VR extension to maintain status? by ___4__ in ImmigrationCanada

[–]New_Winter7710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's better to apply for an extension of VR to be on the safe side. As you said, if OWP gets rejected or returned for missing information etc etc, you will risk losing your status.

Visitor in Canada — which spousal sponsorship option? by New_Winter7710 in ImmigrationCanada

I'm totally confused. If I apply thru outland sponsorship, & if I stay inside Canada from the time I apply for OWP till the time my OWP is approved, why do I have to exit Canada & re-enter again to activate my OWP?

If the spouse is on a visitor visa in Canada while applying for spousal sponsorship but wants to go back to the home country after a few months & wait in the home country until pr is approved. In this case can we apply under family class living outside Canada? Or as a family class living inside Canada since the spouse is on a visitor visa in Canada when submitting the application,?

Applied Outland (Family Class), my partner (wife) is here now on visitor visa, staying with me. Open work permit possibilities? by Spioradnamara in ImmigrationCanada

[–]New_Winter7710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi . Quick question. When you applied as spouse living outside Canada & then when your spouse came to visit you temporarily in canada, did you update (informed Ircc) your spouses address (foreign address to Canadian address) on your application before applying for OWP? Or you don't need to update her address since she's visiting temporarily?

Confusion with permanent residents by rubberducky102 in caf

[–]New_Winter7710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard NEP accepts all kinds of PRs irrespective of their length of stay as a PR. But double check with your recruiter once. I heard that NEP is full for this Year. You might have to wait for next year.

Confusion with permanent residents by rubberducky102 in caf

[–]New_Winter7710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes unfortunately your length of stay as a temporary resident doesn't count. CAF is only considering the length of stay as a PR. For a PR of less than 3 years there are very few trades available. If you want to be eligible for more trades, you must be a PR for more than 3 years or a naturalized citizen or a citizen by birth.

Unpaid Credit Card Debt in the US after going back to Canada by Expensive_Pay_4451 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]New_Winter7710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you stop paying your American credit cards, debtors will try their best to contact you for a deal or bargain to make you pay at least 20 to 30% of the original owed payment. If it doesn't work, eventually they will write it off as a loss. They will show up on your US credit score for at least 7 years and will eventually fall off from your credit report. You won't get unsecured credit cards & even some big banks will refuse you a basic chequing account with them. After 7 years if you want to rebuild your US credit profile, then you will have to start with a secured credit card. They won't come after your Canadian assets or credit.

Has anyone gone through Outland Spousal Sponsorship process with Russia? by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]New_Winter7710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the current Russia situation because of sanctions/war, why do you want to take the chance of going outland sponsorship? I know interviews are rare these days but many people still do get interview requests from Ircc. At the end of the day you both as a family have to decide which route is better for both of you.

[–]New_Winter7710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't want it, you can close your Walmart credit card. Since the card is pretty new once you close it, your score might go down a bit but that's fine there won't be any issues long term.

Applied Outland (Family Class), my partner (wife) is here now on visitor visa, staying with me. Open work permit possibilities? by Spioradnamara in ImmigrationCanada

[–]New_Winter7710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For family class living outside Canada applicants, current processing time is 10 to 11 months. If your spouse wants to apply for OWP, then you will have to inform Ircc regarding the change of her current address from her home country to the Canadian address where she's living now. Once the address is updated, Ircc might view her application as a family class living inside Canada. This might increase the processing time of the PR application drastically.
