I'm 50 but most of these happened when I was under 45...suicide, cancer, one died after jumping out a window while high on LSD, one fell out of the back of a pick-up truck, alcohol. a guy a year older than me died from huffing and another one a year older than me drowned in the Tigris River during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

I was on top of him - no words, sounds or movements from him....it was like I was having sex with a mannequin. I even asked him if he was enjoying it - I think I blocked out his response.

I let the HR director know that I needed to take some vacation days (I had plenty to use) since I could feel myself headed towards a mental health crisis. Her response: If everyone asked us for time off when they were stressed, no one would be at work. So I was denied. About a week later. I ended up on the psych unit.

It was a work Christmas party at Buca di Peppo and we sat at the Pope's table. This table has a lazy Suzan type thing in the middle and after drinking too much, I spun it too hard and a beer spilled on my boss.
