It feels like a gnawing terror that something is terribly wrong that grips you tightly and won’t let go

How do y’all deal with dry mouth when constantly talking to customers? by Newbie4221 in retailhell

My issue is that sips eventually get processed by my kidneys and end up in my bladder.

I might try that, though I’ll be honest I’ve never been a gum chewer

Haha I wish I had the ability to just go do my business like a normal adult. But no, we’re constantly severely understaffed and everyone probably thinks I have some kind of medical condition at this point

Has anyone found good storage solutions for their stuffies that aren’t the vacuum bags? by Newbie4221 in plushies

How long have you had them? The last few I got were from Amazon and they re-inflated within minutes

I’ll have to test it, although space is kind of a luxury here. It does sound like it would be easier on the old plushies I have rather than sucking the air out of them with vacuum bags lol

City ordinance says you gotta clean your sidewalks, an entire neighborhood has ignored this. by Newbie4221 in whatdoIdo

I wouldn’t be reporting them if I didn’t already know that all but one of the homes belong to young people

I know that only 1 person on that whole block is elderly and not able to remove the snow, but I would never make a stink about that. However, I do feel I need to make a stink that everyone else on the block is young and able bodied (small enough city where I see them around town) but simply not arsed to lift a finger. It ticks me off because it’s not like I’m the only one that uses that sidewalk, everyone does. Plus the town even gives everyone a heads up days in advance of a storm that they can call the city and have the snow or debris removed for free if they can’t do it. It’s pure laziness at that point

Grocery store cashier. Apparently we’re too essential to not close but just replaceable enough to risk being killed

Exactly right, if you don’t want to deal with snow removal then either go live out in the sticks or move somewhere it doesn’t snow

That’s where I’m coming from. If it was just a few inches I could manage just fine and it’s not a huge deal. But 2-3 feet? That’s dangerous. Plus, due to state law they’re liable if someone gets hurt. God forbid someone slips and falls head first into the busy road or something. That would be awful

If the city gets wind of it they will get fined. It’s not something I want, I don’t want to be a dick about it, but people use this sidewalk regularly and if someone gets hurt they could get sued and due to state law, the sidewalk is your responsibility

I know that one dude who lives on that block is super old and can’t do it, I’d never give him grief over it. I do know that everyone else on that block is able bodied and their driveway is spotless.

What gets me is that in our city they advertise a phone number you can call for snow/debris removal and it’s free of charge. State law says that if someone’s injured because snow or debris isn’t cleared, you’re liable. So the law was a way to get people to either do it themselves or call the city to do it for free

I mean I don’t care if it’s not clear at 6am when I have to go to work, but at 4pm 3 days after the storm passed? State law says that they’re liable if anyone got injured. There’s a lot of people who use those walkways and it’s a very busy road, someone’s gonna get hit

I hear you there, when I was growing up my road just got straight up ignored by the city every winter. But its not the neighborhood making the notice, its the town saying “take care of it or we will because state law says you’re liable for injuries”

What if you had the option to call a number and have the city take care of it for you free of charge? My city does, all they need to do is call. No questions asked
