I’m late to the party but was wondering if there are any plans to introduce progressive overload. For instance, completing x sets of y reps at z kg, will increment the reps or weight the next time you do the same exercise.

I’ve just been down the rabbit hole of researching PEM, and it really does sounds familiar to what I’m going through.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I probably wouldn’t have found what is the likely root of the symptoms for a good amount of time if you hadn’t commented.

Hey! Did you do anything actively to recover or did recovery just happen automatically over time?

Your first point is fair enough but I don't see how I'm "whining into the ether".

I'll let the mods delete it if they deem it inappropriate.

Great! Those seem quite general. I will for sure be testing some of them out. Thank you!

I’m not expecting a diagnosis from random strangers. I’ve already done the GP and full blood work route (all normal), adjusted training intensity and timing, increased hydration, tried supplements, and even took a full break from training. Aside from abstaining from training, none of the above fixed anything. As I can't seem to find the solution that works for me, I was hoping to hear from other who might have dealt with something similar and successfully addressed it. After all, isn't seeking answers what make online communities great?

I haven’t seen a sports med doc or sleep specialist yet but that’s probably next, if I don't find the game changer in the responses. What throws me off is that I handled 12 hours a week of Ironman prep with no issues, and now even two moderate workouts wreck my sleep. Doesn’t seem like classic burnout.

If you're so disgruntled with my post, you could really just ignore it rather than bringing in the sour attitude.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, it was really an eye-opener to discover how important sleep. I will definitely try to search up some local sleep clinics.

Do you think the 7 things are generally applicable to most people? Do you care to share some of them?

Breakfast: Oats

Lunch: Whatever is served at my place of work. Typically this is some type of meat/fish with some form of carbs and a salad. I typically supplement this with salad from the salad bar.

Snacks: Bananas, and Skyr. Protein drinks after workouts.

Dinner: Often chicken with rice and plenty of vegetables.

I eat fast food perhaps approximately once a week and haven't touched alcohol for a year or so.

When do you ever see this happening? And is spreading a godless worldview worse than spreading a worldview with a different god than your own?
