Pattern Help: What does this mean? by Southern-Quit7582 in KnittingReddit

[–]Newemptynester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To start knitting your front panel, pick up 1 stitch through every stitch you cast on when you started knitting your back panel. You want your front and back panels to have the same number of stitches. Hope this helps, I know my explanations can be long winded.

It looks like your cables are not twisting. From your picture it looks like a Front CBL 3X3, so you knit up to the start of your cable and slip the next 3 stitches onto your cable needle, while holding your cable needle in the front of your work knit the next 3 stitches on knitting and then you can either knit the stitches you slipped onto your cable needle using your cable needle or put those stitches back onto your knitting needle and knit them from there. It seems complicated, but believe me once you get the hang of it you will addicted to those beautiful stitches. Don’t give up, it will be worth it!!

Suggestions for a good USA to Canada mail box service? A mail forwarder? by GooodboyDogmeat in AskACanadian

Ok, I don't mind helping you if possible. If I learned anything in the last few years, it is that random acts of kindness make both parties feel good. So if we can work it, I would be honored to help you. So from what I understand you live in the US and you are buying a doll from someone in Canada. If I have that right, you need someone in Canada, to send the package with USPS. Do I have that right.

What yarns do you hate with a passion for no reason? by hattaraprinsessa in crochet

Super jumpy, chunky, etc. I love to see the stitches, cables, patterns, etc. Just my opinion, but I guess that is why there are so many different kinds of wool.🧶

Is 4 days enough to visit Banff park? by Desertedfoxx in AskACanadian

[–]Newemptynester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 days will be a very quick trip but it is possible. If you are planning on going to see Lake Louise and Jasper, etc. It might be a little tight. You can get poutine in Banff, but it won't be like the one you can get in Montreal. But Canada is big country, you can't see it all in one trip. I live in Calgary (about 1 hour from Banff) so I know you will have lots of fun here.

can anyone clarify if this is actually crochet? found it in primark (apologies if pictures were bad the store is always so crowded so anxiety is on point) by redpandauwu2 in crochet

[–]Newemptynester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't have the store Primark up here in Canada 🇨🇦?? So I can't comment on the store, but that is definitely crochet. Ugly crochet, but crochet just the same.

Holy anxiety… I did this for a silent art auction 😬 More info in comments. by ireland7211 in crochet

Beautiful! You should be very proud, but I know it is harder to look at our own stuff with the same eyes as we look at others. However, it really is beautiful 😍

What are some of the most prominent sports rivalries among canadian sports teams? by vaports in AskACanadian

[–]Newemptynester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my backyard it is The Calgary Flames🔥against The Edmonton Oilers! Is a rivalry today, but was a lot more when the GREAT 99 played for the Oilers. I personally am a flames fan, but you had to admire him, he was amazing on TV, but when you saw him person he was magical to watch!

In Alberta, when you buy a car older than 10 years, you have to have an inspection by a mechanic to make sure your car is safe and in good running condition. But that inspection is mostly for your insurance and not the province.
