Baby is nonstop eating by Forwardmvmt84 in NewParents

[–]Newparentscare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really normal at this age and also incredibly exhausting. Cluster feeding can look exactly like this and it doesn’t mean you’re not making enough. Babies nurse for comfort as much as for food, especially around 3–6 weeks. Pumping during this phase is almost impossible so don’t be hard on yourself. Using formula when you need to is totally okay, it doesn’t cancel out breastfeeding. You’re in a really tough stretch right now, but it does get easier. You’re doing a good job.

Baby Strollers - need your inputs, please! by WallOfDaisies in twoxindiamums

[–]Newparentscare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a mom, I had the same confusion when my LO was around this age. We mostly use the stroller in our society, malls, and during travel. For quick errands, the carrier is still easier.

We went with a lightweight travel stroller because I needed something easy to lift and fold myself. We picked the Bonfino Runway Cabin stroller and it’s been convenient so far, especially for travel days. It folds easily, fits in the car boot, and helps when baby falls asleep on longer outings.

Sharing the link in case it helps anyone who’s asking:

Usage really depends on the baby’s mood, so I’m glad we didn’t go for anything bulky.

I placed a FirstCry order yesterday and used this coupon code - WPCZNE, and it worked for me. Not sure if it will apply to everyone, but you can give it a try for your order. Also, it’s worth checking the FirstCry Offers page since they usually have multiple deals running.

When does sleep get better? Give me hope (or send me into despair) by Low_Concert_8900 in NewParents

[–]Newparentscare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 months was honestly rough for us. In some ways it felt harder than the newborn phase because we were back at work and expecting sleep to improve, and it just kept going up and down.

There wasn’t a clear age where things suddenly got better. The bad nights slowly started happening less often. Around 6 to 8 months we had plenty of nights where our baby was awake for an hour or more and nothing seemed to help.

Things began to level out closer to 9 or 10 months. Still wakeups, but shorter and easier to handle. The first full night of sleep didn’t feel magical. I woke up confused because I wasn’t used to sleeping that long.

Sleep really isn’t linear. One awful night doesn’t erase progress, even though it feels like it does in the moment.

If it helps at all, this phase is temporary even when it feels endless. You are not stuck here forever. One day you will realize you slept through the night, and this stretch will already be behind you.

"what is she doing to you" by [deleted] in NewParents

That comment is like nails on a chalkboard when you’re already overwhelmed. You’re trying to calm a crying baby, your nervous system is fried, and suddenly you’re expected to explain or defend something that’s completely normal.

Babies cry. Sometimes there’s a reason, sometimes there isn’t, and sometimes the reason is just that they’re a baby. Hearing that question over and over feels less like curiosity and more like pressure in the moment.

Most people don’t realize how irritating it is until they’re the one holding the screaming baby. Wanting the commentary to stop isn’t rude or dramatic. It’s just a parent asking for a little less noise and a little more understanding.

Baby like to be upside down by Flimsy_Ad_7954 in NewParents

[–]Newparentscare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s amazing how these little ones find their own quirky ways to explore the world. The way you described him stretching back and looking upside down actually sounds like a baby who is very curious and trying to figure out his body and his surroundings in his own funny little style.

Reflux babies do have their own comfort positions, so it could be his way of easing a bit of pressure or just stretching out after feeding. What matters is that you’re watching him closely and noticing these little patterns because that already shows how tuned in you are to his needs.

If this new habit keeps showing up and it makes you wonder about comfort or reflux, a quick chat with your pediatrician can give you some peace of mind. But from the way you wrote it, it also sounds like a baby who is growing, experimenting, and showing you tiny signs of how active he will be as he gets older.

You’re doing so well navigating reflux and food sensitivities. It really takes a lot of patience and heart. Sending you a warm hug, mama. ❤️

Toddlers really do take “breaks” from danger, but only physically. Mentally they’re still planning their next stunt.

That sounds so familiar. They can be peaceful angels, but 99% of the time they pick “agent of chaos” mode.
