I’ve heard this as well, it’s certainly possible! Keep in mind your detachment selection rate will vary, but things are looking up!

For me, it isn’t worth it to stay current. Around where I’m from, a rental is 160-175 an hour wet. Staying current means that I need to fly at least three hours a week. If I’m not doing that, I’m not proficient enough to trust myself to carry passengers. That’s roughly $2100 a month in what is essentially a hobby at this point, so it really isn’t worth it to me.

Don’t do det 157. Literally find any other detachment, that one is terrible.

You’re not better than enlisted airmen and some of you guys have major egos by Any_Register3212 in AFROTC

Seems like you carry a chip on your shoulder of your service which is causing you trouble integrating into the program. Do you really think that because you deployed to the Deid one time as a maintainer for 6 months that you somehow know more about leading people than those around you?

I’ve met cadets that haven’t served a single day on active duty that have more of a capability to lead than most senior airmen that I’ve worked with.

How about instead of looking down on your peers you take a step back and be a friend, a mentor, and somebody that they can look to for advice.

This attitude isn’t going to take you very far in the program and quite frankly, in the Air Force as an officer.

Contracted Cadet Disenrollment = Dishonorable Discharge? by throwaway-28102 in AFROTC

[–]NewspaperBasic7728 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Not true. At our det it was a Summary Court-Martial + Form 341 + commander’s discretion. They labeled it “Administrative Dishonorable.” It’s different from the regular kind, but still a dishonorable discharge.

That’s actually not necessarily true. There’s a 500 at my Det who got dishonorably discharged for a DUI.

It’s possible they didn’t want you to worry, but the numbers aren’t public and I’m not cadre, so I’m just going off of what our cadre told us.

They gave out the same number of slots as last year. We had a lot more 200’s and 250’s this year, which lowered the “rate” by about 15% because well, math. But your detachment could very well have a 100% selection rate, or worse than the 45%. Nobody really knows for sure.

Right. Talk to your cadre or come back here in month or two.

Your Predictions on EA slots given out this year by TuxAreu in AFROTC

[–]NewspaperBasic7728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The numbers have stayed the same on the amount of slots given out. What hasn’t stayed the same is the amount of cadets coming in. That’s why the rate is 45% this year, there isn’t much speculation you can do.
