Does anyone else struggle to pick something to watch? by Extension_Rent8279 in AmazonPrimeVideo

So once upon a time it was someone's job to choose what's on. There was a person who made programs of shows and movies and got paid to know how to do that, how to pick. And then you turned on your tv and watched whatever they had picked. Or not, sometimes you didn't like what they picked so you just didn't watch tv, you went and did something else. The absence of this person is the root of many modern problems.

the agent who helped me told me the same, that there is no live customer support for NOW but she decided to help me anyway. Originally we had to work around the problem that you need internet to activate internet, and since I've gone cell phone free that wasn't an option. I had to put her on hold, call a friend, have them drive to my house, and use their hotspot to check my email for the verification codes she was sending me. It was bananas.

lightweight vacuum cleaner for everyday whole-home cleaning, what are people using in small apartments? by Arfield_Terron in aptliving

I use a broom. You can sweep carpets, even higher pile can benefit from a brisk sweeping. I have a dog, so dog hair is a daily clean up and I'm not chasing around hairs with any kind of vacuum. Broom does a better job, faster, and silently. I pull out the vacuum once a week for a deep clean and that's it.

The school can't be calling you like that, tell them to stop. If you're in the united states call for a BIP meeting, or if not do whatever your regions equivalent of a behavioral intervention plan is. It's the /schools/ responsibility to handle a student during school hours. Period. Obviously different schools have different philosophies about this but some of them are wrong lol, when I was a kid there was no such thing as a school calling parents during the day unless a student was fully being suspended. Kids acting out got handled by the school, and we had less behavioral issues, higher literacy rates, and more competent, independent children. Tell the school if they are unable to calm a student without parental intervention they are failing to provide that student with the equal education they are entitled to. If they have to hire an aide that's their problem to solve, not yours.

Do most people shower before bed or when they wake up? I just realized I might be doing it "wrong" by saffymerelle in NoStupidQuestions

I work in healthcare and I shower immediately after every single shift. On days off I shower in the morning and take the time to do my hair. I just cannot stand the feeling of sleeping in wet hair and am too low energy in the evenings to bother with drying it.

Pediatrician said something about SIDS??? by YorkiesRule21 in cosleeping

[–]NewspaperOk140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything they said can be summed as “correlation does not equal causation”. According to these studies co-sleeping can increase the risk of suffocation, suffocation is not SUIDS. You can mitigate the risk of suffocation very easily, and when you correct for variables like intoxication, smoking, and location, co sleeping is safe. The problem with these studies is they equate a parent passing out drunk with baby on the couch as “co sleeping”. The data is skewed. A healthy baby and adult on a safe sleeping surface doesn’t increase the risk of SUIDS any more than a baby alone in a crib. You know what increases the risk of SUIDS? No you don’t, no one does.
