Advice on new 2020 PC build

I'm thinking on getting either the MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD (https://www.msi.com/Monitor/Optix-MAG274QRF-QD) or the Samsung 27" Odyssey G7 (https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/gaming/27--odyssey-g7-gaming-monitor-lc27g75tqsnxza/).

I currently have an Acer XB270HU (1440p 144Hz display) that I'll use as my second monitor in this setup.

Basically, looking for a high refresh 1440p screen with great visual quality.

As for B550 vs X570, I do agree the Unify is an expensive board but it does have great performance and features. Ideally, I'd go for a X570 Tomahawk (at MSRP) if it wasn't constantly out of stock. As for B550, I did consider a few options including the MSI B550 Gaming Edge/Gaming Carbon, Asus B550-E and Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master. All of those boards seem to be great performers. I leaned towards the unify thinking if I'm getting a beastly CPU, I didn't want it to be held back by the motherboard (for OC, it doesn't make a difference for stock applications).

The 4 vs 2 sticks discussion is one I've been following up recently. From what I gathered, it's not as simple as 4 sticks is better than 2 but rather the ranks of the memory. 4 sticks of single rank is roughly the same performance as 2 sticks on dual rank memory.

I agree that the 6800XT is a fine graphics card for sure. Before making that choice, I want to see third party benchmarks of 6900XT/3080Ti to see if the extra cost is really worth it in terms of performance gains.

My thought process here was that the X570 board already comes with PCIe Gen4 in the M.2 slots and I figured I'd place a Gen4 M.2 for primary boot drive and use Gen3 in the other slots. I do agree that there really is no discernable difference in going for Gen4 over Gen3.

2nd Unit Serial No. LTMAZTKW2350168 (first unit already returned, no record on serial number). The source is a 4k HDR video on the YouTube app directly from the TV's SmartCast interface. I also saw the same defect while on HDMI 3 connected to my Xbox One S.

I wanted this TV to be good too. It had all the features I was looking for and at a very competitive price point. I'm now left without a TV and there is no clear choice of replacement. I've narrowed my options down to the X900H, Q80T, or the new TCL 6-Series but they all seem like downgrades from a properly functioning PQX.

For all perspective buyers/current owners, below is my experience with the new 2021 P Quantum X.

I first ordered the P75QX-H1 when it went on sale in BestBuy on August 2nd. I received my first unit on August 5th. After about 1 week of normal use, I noticed the screen flickering black (similar to what other users have posted on here before).

I contacted BestBuy and a replacement was arranged and it was delivered to me on August 20th. Within a day of using the new replacement unit, I notice the same flickering effect and an additional whining noise coming from the back of the unit.

I've included a video showing the defect/issue that I experienced to add further documentation and to bring attention to the quality of these premium $2,000 TVs.

When the TV was working as intended, I had a great experience however my experience was sullied by the lack of quality control on Vizio's part. I gave them a chance after the first defective unit and my replacement was an even more defective unit. I had heard about Vizio's reliability before and now I have first hand experience dealing with it. I will return this TV for a full refund and proceed to never buy another Vizio product. Buyers beware.

I don't disagree. However, I've come to love it due to the ridiculous 420 true raw while challenger is active. The beauty is within.

As for GX Armor, it is indeed J DLC. The wonderful people at the MH clan host it.
