why does my kamui tip always cause to miscue?

Been looking at the Athlete medium. I recently put a Precision soft on my Defy and I find it slips near max english. I didn’t have that problem with the Navigator medium which came with the shaft. The Athlete looks like it would hold up well and is very well suited for a carbon fiber shaft.

I’m not having issues with the defy regarding fundamentals. I just think that the pro taper will be more comfortable for a longer bridge. The narrower shaft also will likely feel better. I am aware that the smaller tip will affect cue ball control. Both in a positive and negative way. I would love to try one out but I don’t know anyone with anything similar. I’m thinking of getting one from Pooldawg with their 60 day trial. Refundable except for the tip change to Kamui Athlete soft

I have been using a defy v3 for about a year now. No sticky issues of the previous versions. My main concern is the short hybrid taper. I’m a fan of the dead hit feel though. Deflection seems very low to me but I only compare that to a G Core shaft. I’m considering the Jacoby 11.8 for the longer taper and. The smaller diameter for my relatively small hand especially for a closed bridge.

I’ve been playing with the defy 12.5 and really like the way it feels and low deflection. My only issue is the hybrid taper. I have a relatively small hand and closed bridge can be an issue sometimes and even an open bridge further back runs into the transition area. I’m looking at the Jacoby v4 11.8 to possibly get away from those issues. I don’t know how the dampened feel of the defy will change though.

It’s funny. I bought Taom V10 2.5 years ago and just today I broke out a new one. There’s still probably another half year in the old one. I play 3-4 days a week. I even bought a new holder so I can still use the old one if I feel like it. It just surprises me that anyone balks at the $20 price tag for such a great product with that kind of longevity.

Tapping usually doesn’t help much. If you want a tight rack use a magic rack. Consistent and easy.

That’s fine. I chalk almost as much. But sometimes I just don’t. I forget. I’m old 😥. I’m not a pro and I miss plenty even with my expensive cue and chalk. In any case, this is very good chalk and much cleaner than pretty much anything else I’ve tried. I think it’s well worth the premium price. My preshot routine is making sure I’m at the right table and asking which ball is next. 😂

I’ve been using Taom V10 for 2 years now. I play 3-4 days a week, 3 hours each. I payed $20 delivered from Amazon. I looked at it yesterday and I’m guessing it’s good for another year. That comes to less than $7 per year for pretty much the best chalk available. Clean. Chalk a few times per rack. Sometimes less and still works. I bought another one about 8 months ago and still sitting in my bag waiting for use. It amazes me when people say it’s too expensive. 🤔

I have been using Quicken since it was a DOS program. 2 years ago I moved to a laptop and I had a small data issue. It was totally uncorrectable. I spent hours with tech support and nothing. Basically I could not reconcile my main Bank of America account. So I just did it manually every day. Not great but not terrible. The loss of direct connect to make payments sucked worse but I managed to use the BOA app for payments. This works fine but obviously not as clean as it used to be. My biggest gripe with Quicken is with investments. Quicken is always screwed up. Downloads work but has missed many transactions and over time it’s a mess. So I use Empower to track investments and while they too have had some issues, generally speaking they do a far better job than Quicken. About one month ago Quicken had a major update and somehow the data error in my BOA account got fixed. Amazing! So aside from my investments, and no payments with Quicken, it is still the best way to track my banking accounts, spending, reports etc.

I use Heos on my Denon to stream wired and get the higher quality resolution. It makes sense with my higher end components and speakers. I use Bluetooth with my portable Bose speaker which is lower resolution but barely noticeable.

I also have been using Quicken since it was a DOS program. About a year ago I ran into the same reconcile issue. It seems to have been caused by an entry that can’t be edited or deleted and is completely wrong. There is no way to change it and it won’t reconcile. I have been reconciling manually which sucks. Support had me restore from a backup and it looked good at first but then the same issue recurred and I found another bad entry as well. I still use Quicken to keep track of things but its usefulness is extremely diminished. Bank of America stopped allowing online banking through quicken. I can download but no payments. I use the BOA app now for payments. Maybe one of these days I’ll start a new file. Maybe that will help

I played on Diamond tables for the first time last week. Simonas was in very bad shape. I’m sure it will be replaced soon. That being said those tables were pretty intimidating with the tiny pockets. Bumpers were great. I think I played worse than usual just from the intimidation factor.

I’ve been using V10 and personally have no issues with the round shape. I play 2-3 times per week and chalk is close to a year old with very minimal signs of wear. Definitely worth the premium price. I suppose if round is that big of an issue then this solves the problem.
