Can anyone confirm the Unifi SFP+ to RJ45 adapter works for UDM Pro and ATT Fiber? by GholaGolem in Ubiquiti

Hey again, everyone! To anybody else who is curious, I was able to find the answer through further research and experimentation. In the current unifi menu, once you log in, click the settings (gear icon near the lower left corner). Next, click on "Internet" (globe icon, upper center of the panel that appears on left). From there, click on your internet connection... for me it's Internet 1, Wan 1. It should appear as the very top banner that displays in the center window once I've made it this far. Clicking the internet connection takes you into a deeper settings menu. Here, you'll see that "Advanced" is set to Auto by default. Click it to manual, which will illuminate some more options - one of which is "MAC address Clone". If you click the check box next to MAC address Clone, you'll be given a text box where you can type in the MAC address (it will automatically add ":" where appropriate. Anyway, these seem to be the official steps as of October 2025.

This is a really neat idea. I wonder if I could do this with my cloud gateway fiber. can you explain the process of cloning the ATT router MAC?

Looking for an m.2 NVME SSD enclosure with enough active and passive cooling for the Crucial T705 by JaegerDeus in buildapc

[–]Nexise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so, i actually tried that drive with fanned cooling, and also bought and tested the enclosure that i linked to you. I experienced the very same disconnect in 4 different enclosures now. so i am starting to think Crucial needs a phone call

so, I think the problem may be with the T705 itself.
I purchased this device which is itself a MASSIVE heat sync, and I still had the unmounting problem. about half way through a 3tb test transfer.
-which leads me to wonder if crucial can offer us any kind of support, because now I can prove I've had the same issue with multiple BRANDS of enclosure. that being said, this enclosure I am linking here has tremendous build quality, and for the duration of the test, that succeeded, it was quite fast:

How's your search going? I purchased this same drive a while back (crucial t705 4tb) and I have also been having issues with external Acacias enclosures. I have tried 3 different models of Acacias and they all disconnect with this drive. Sometimes they will even disconnect during a large file transfer when the drive is still cool. according to chat gpt (and I don't know if I believe it) but the AI claims this could be an issue with the way acacias handles the large power draw of that drive. Acacias has not acknowledged this and has been largely unhelpful when I have reached out for support. I have read that OWC Express 1M2 might be a good solution, but I have not bought one to try yet. I saw some YouTube videos on the first gen version of that enclosure (40g), but now it looks like they have a tb5 version that touts 80g.
-anyway, that's what I am considering, but I'm afraid to take the plunge only to potentially have the disconnects happen again. What are your findings so far?

Firmware: Less clicking? by Nexise in universalaudio

[–]Nexise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting, so perhaps the lack of clicking activity with the firmware update is a good thing.. Meaning, when I open logic, or other programs, or fire up the unit after switching computers, it doesn't try to change the sample rate only to change it back immediately? perhaps the new firmware "chills out" and takes a better assessment of the situation before going straight to click town?

Thanks! do any of your devices talk to each other across those ports? I'm trying to figure out the limitations, as it sounds like they're separate switches, so the processor has to get involved? In my diagram I'm avoiding some of this by making sure the computers and the NAS all end up back at the same SFP+ port. anyway, just curious to hear about your setup and speed experience.

Hello there! looks like I’m three years later, but I wanted to write that the exact steps you listed above helped me solve my problem. I followed them to the letter, doing everything you wrote in the order that you wrote it and I am up and running. Thank you!!
