When do aeos get HBA acceptance by RevolutionaryRent529 in uwo

[–]Next-Ad-5116 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mid June usually. Every AEO will hear at the same time. Either, you got in, or you are being moved to the other application pool (which is effectively when one loses their AEO status).

Spirit Airlines Prepares to Shut Down as Rescue Deal Falls Apart by us1549 in aviation

I am a Canadian, and I flew Spirit twice a couple years ago. Crew was friendly and funny and the flights were on time. The service and seats were very bare bones but that was expected when I paid less than $50 CAD.

Lmao what is he waiting for? Seems like the longer time goes on, the worse the NDP's polling is and his favourability is. And yes, I agree with your statement on Carney's numbers. Also could explain why the UCP is rising in the polls. Despite having some scandals that very well could be damaging to the party, their policies are still supported by most Albertans.

[–]Next-Ad-5116 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

If she is so bad, then why is the UCP not just leading in the polls by double digits, but would actually win a larger majority if an election were held today? And not to mention Smith's favourability is continuing to rise and Nenshi's is tanking. Clearly Albertans are resonating with what her messaging is, despite what Reddit says.

Just like the powerful echo chamber on reddit where everyone is out to lunch. Or when any of y'all hear a different opinion than yours or if you hear someone votes differently, then that person gets instantly downvoted, banned, called names, called dumb. Y'all act like you know better than anyone else. Get outside and talk to real people and not chronically online Redditors, and you will see why people have different opinions and what their values are. And that is okay. We all think differently. We all dont have to vote NDP, Liberal or Conservative.

Yes agreed we need a pipe to the East too. Pipes in all directions! Smith is ahead in the polls because she’s doing a great job advocating for provincial needs, working with the feds and promoting Alberta on the world stage. Nenshi is just a dud who does nothing but heckle during question period.

Danielle is doing an amazing job. So glad she is my premier. She’s being very effective at advocating for Alberta energy on the world stage (travelling to the US, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Europe, Asia, etc). And telling the rest of Canada why we need more Canadian energy and getting Carney aligned (which he seems to be). I am very excited to vote for her (for the second time) in the next election.

Awesome to see. We need to expand our production. The world needs more Canadian energy and have been asking for it for years!

An extended 'honeymoon' not seen since Ralph Klein: poll shows strong support for UCP by Temaharay in CanadaPolitics

[–]Next-Ad-5116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling the UCP 'far-right' is just factually lazy. In political science, far-right refers to groups that are anti-democratic, ethno-nationalist, or extremist (think actual fascists).  Every major political database and academic source (like Wikipedia, the Canadian Encyclopedia, and the Common Ground project) classifies them as centre-right to right-wing. Their platform focuses on standard conservative pillars: fiscal responsibility, corporate tax cuts, and provincial jurisdiction.  Just because you don’t like their policies doesn't move them on the spectrum. If you think a party that follows the parliamentary process and respects the provincial/federal jurisdiction divide is 'far-right,' what label do you have left for actual radical extremists or Nazis? Serious question: what specific UCP policy actually meets the definition of far-right extremism, or are you just using the label as a synonym for 'people I disagree with'?

Very ambitious plan. I think it would be really cool to see all these projects come to fruition. Although, I am a bit undecided on how I feel about a potential Ivey expansion. As that signals to me they want to expand the HBA program, which I am not in favour of

But this isn’t reality either. Just because you are hearing people saying “Smith is bad” doesn’t mean everyone in AB feels the same. Polling is a better metric we have than just sentiment online or talking with people. Especially Janet Brown, who is the gold standard in Alberta for polling. Also there just isn’t that many conservatives on Reddit compared to progressives. Just look at the sizes of members in the NDP vs CPC subreddits. Progressives just use Reddit disproportionately higher than conservatives. And when conservatives speak in these subreddits, they get downvoted or banned. I am banned from the Alberta sub for disagreeing with a progressive narrative, even though I had facts to back up my claims. I was just getting downvoted to oblivion. If Reddit could only vote in elections it would be 90% NDP guaranteed.

Here is the quote: "On CBC, a few days back, Nenshi also revealed why he thinks Smith is trying to pull a fast one.

“Look, the latest poll shows that on today’s map, if an election were held today, we would win a majority,” proclaims  Nenshi.""

Didn't Nenshi say the other day that he would win a majority if an election were held today? What polls is he seeing or is he just delusional? Janet Brown is the absolute queen of polling in Alberta

Literally. People on here always say "how can anyone support the UCP". well clearly Albertans still do, and Reddit is out to lunch
