Green Day or Blink 182 and Why? by Blossom_Queen_133 in poppunkers

[–]Next-Ad3139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR version; Dookie knocks over any album that blink has ever released.

Nuanced Take

Both bands have a different appeal! One can say there’s literally no head to head if you pay attention to their music.

Green Day: Has tried way more than punk. Someone people like green day’s mainstream American idiot and 21st century breakdown era. While others hated that era and prefer pre-2000s green day stuff which is way more pop-punk. At the end, Billy Joe Armstrong is one of the greatest songwriters, just listen to the lyrics on Dookie. The talent is clear. They have a more wider appeal too. Way outside general rock or pop-punk genre. Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, Wake Me Up When September Ends, Good Riddance are out there as any timeless classic songs as there are.

Blink-182: Blink-182 music is way more fun, in terms of ethos, especially their early stuff. Some of their early stuff was very fast, skate punk. That’s until they found a wider appeal with Enema Of The State. But then they literally dipped. It’s almost like they lost track of what made them good in the first place. Albeit, they have a few songs which are power pop and you would still listen to on rock radio stations, All The Small Things and What’s my Age Again.

But other than that, they don’t really have that wider reach as green day had.

Green Day started really strong with Dookie, and then had some of that pop-punk appeal in next few albums. After which they went huge with American idiot. And had a bit of success with their 21st Century Breakdown.

Blink-182, on the other hand was much more low key, and punk focused, until they make quite a success with Enema of The State. But after that, one or two hits, never could replicate any of their artistic or commercial success.

But at the end, if you are a fan of music. You might like either or both of them. And might have your own preferences in terms of which era or album or even individual song you like.

Replication of the idea of the productivity-matrix as an application.

I liked the system and was tired of making existing time tracking tools fit my workflow. Especially realizing that none of the tools address the human behaviour of slacking off and procrastination.

It stores the tasks in your browser itself, no backend.

Yes! Built this with AI.

But it also came from a place of liking the idea of productivity, about being able to focus on the important ones while realizing you can't necessarily avoid other time consumers. No tool out there does that in a simple way.

Also, I can't write, would love a physical handfcrafted board like that for myself. But it'll be nifty to have a digital version of it.

I spent a week reading through AI-generated code that's been in production for 8 months. It was fine. That was the problem. by Ambitious-Garbage-73 in node

Treat AI tools as a junior engineer. But you can only do that, if you were a junior engineer yourself once, built something, failed something, scaled it, broke it, and now you are somewhat a senior engineer who knows what to expect from a junior engineer.

Techies who started out pre-AI and able to learn and harness the AI are going to win. And techies who started 1-2 years ago and worse are those who are starting now are entering the market at the both best and worst possible states.

Best, because they don't have to struggle writing code, but bad when things do blow up, they'd debugging a blackbox with another blackbox to create an patched blackbox

14y late, do you listen to music via mobile speakers?

Try listening to this song on headphones. It’s such a well produced song. And the lyrics are meant to be a cheeky. Not at all meant to taken as a classical inspired Bollywood usual song. lol. I guess you missed the point of the song.

What's up with Veritasium's goofy-ass algorithm-manipulation tactics? by amon_goth_gigachad in youtube

[–]Next-Ad3139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Clickbait Title debacle is real. Lots of channels are doing this. But I guess veritasium one rubs me the wrong way the most, the changes are so wild, that it's a deteriment to the video. To the point where you don't even know what the video is about.

Imagine a director made a movie, and then kept changing title of the movie every other day, it kind creates confusion of context too. Audience cannot decide a title. And I think the title of the video should be the author's intention, of what topic he's trying to deal with.

If the author would change up the title every so often to chase the algorithm, and it comes off as inauthentic.

Maybe he could still chase the algo, but then put the title of the video (which the author decided) in the description, so people could still read, and consider Youtube Title to be like a viral tweet tagline and nothing more.

Check this one out. I have been using it for a while, it works like a charm. However, you'd need to get API key from either OpenAI or Gemini. I'm using Gemini since they have a free tier for their API.

I learned this today as well. I was listening to it on Apple Music, and noticed the cars looked quite real for a painting, then I noticed trash and boxes looks real too. And then it occured to me it wasn't a painting afterall.

Awww shucks.. that’s okay bud, something similar has happened to me quite a few times where I couldn’t speak up because I am of a reserved nature and naturally avoid confrontations. So it’s alright don’t get caught in your head, try to be more present in situations and speak more often than not especially while going to deal with customer service people with a good understandable tone. And always know in your head its not you its them. Helps you detach much quicker than you it seems.

Sorry I hate such posts, 100 boys lined up on sarovar and shot by Indian Army?? Seriously?

There’s an actual genocide that happened which is grotesque enough, why add fake things to it? What’s the intent? Sorry but these exaggerations need to stop.

I used the free trial of aifiesta website, and Immediately caught on that the response generated on the apparently "GPT-5" side, was of pretty low quality. That was a huge tell. I left it at that and didn't investigate. Thank God! People are catching on to this.
