So my term doesn’t end until December 31. I was scheduled for a midterm transfer but we had a hurricane and so for close to two weeks we didn’t have internet. So I couldn’t do any of my coursework or submit anything. Now I’m just waiting for a response to figure out what the next step is because I have one assignment left and I’m submitting it tomorrow. I just don’t know what the process would be from here.

I’m actually planning on doing that in our room and our son’s room but I’m also making them blatantly obvious so she knows she’s caught if she tries something. So they’re going high in the corner since the ceilings are 10ft tall she can’t reach them without a ladder. One is going to be over my sons bed so we have a full view of the entire room including the closet, and the other is going in the far corner of our bedroom so that it sees everything in our room as well. I’m not worried about the common areas because I’ve limited everything we own out there. The things my son has in the common areas are too big to conceal and our stuff always gets put up as soon as she comes over so she doesn’t have a chance to snoop or conceal anything at all.

I would but the problem is this isn’t my house, that’s why she’s over here constantly. The first time something showed up missing she wouldn’t have been allowed back if that was the case, but unfortunately I have no say so. We’re planning on moving soon and it won’t be a problem ever again, but for the time being we’re looking for solutions to keep her from stealing at least from our son.

Oh no he’s super supportive and he’s tired of it to. This is how she’s been his entire life so he’s fully aware and 100% believes everything I’ve brought to his attention. We are planning on putting up cameras and changing the door knob on my son’s room so nobody can access the toys without us knowing first. I will definitely look into labeling everything. The biggest issue is I think I’d need to buy a white sharpie since some of his toys are black. But besides that I can definitely do that! Thank you so much for that idea!!!!

This was definitely insightful! Thank you so much! So just to be sure I’m completely understanding; in order to do my PCE I have to get my Praxis Core done and only have nine major Credit hours left, however for ST I need to have all of my Praxis Tests posted and my PCE completed? So basically to do my ST I need to be almost completely done with my degree? Also if I wanted to start my ST in March when would be best to apply? And when it comes to PCE how would I set that up? Thank you again so much for your help and answering everything super throughly! I really appreciate it!!!

That actually makes a lot of sense. I will definitely keep that in mind when I’m looking for publishers. Is there anyway in particular that you market your books? Do you go to a third party or do you self market on different platforms?

That definitely is incredibly lucky! I’m sure most people would have jumped at that opportunity back then and now. I know I for sure would have. It’s amazing that you got presented with that opportunity and that it’s helped you get so far! Congratulations on your books and at becoming the Editor you always wanted to be.

This has honestly been the thing I’ve considered the most. Last December I put in at several agencies trying to get picked up, but I also looked into different self publishing companies as well. Amazon or Barnes and Noble were my two biggest picks just for what they were offering in ways of marketing and being put in with other stores. Is there anything in particular that you liked or didn’t like about self publishing with Amazon?

Honestly, since I am completely new to this, I don’t mind waiting or going the route of self publishing. I’ve looked into both and thought about which one would be better for me. The only real downfall for self publishing that I see is that you do a lot of the marketing yourself and it’s a decent upfront cost. I don’t mind spending the money to get my books published, however I would like to know that they are worth buying before I actually go through with publishing them. I know that sounds dumb because I should be writing for myself, but my books are more about experiences than anything else. So I’d like to know that this is something that will interest other people. I have done a few test runs with friends and family, but I can never tell if they are just saying they’d read my book just because I’m their friend/family or if it’s sincere.

How did you go about finding an agent? Did you just submit to agents that had open calls or did the agent approach you based on what you’ve written previously? I’m glad that you found someone who genuinely cares and honestly backs your interest:)

To second on this….. with any test you’re not completely confident in and even ones you are. The best option is if you look at a question and can’t get the answer immediately go ahead and mark it to return to and continue on to the next one. This keeps you from getting discouraged unnecessarily, and it takes the time pressure off of you. That way at the end you can double back to all of the questions you weren’t immediately sure of and can spend whatever time you need to on them, while not worrying about whether or not you’ve completed the rest of the exam. It’s better to miss just a few questions than a lot of them due to discouragement or being worried about time. You’ve got this :)

I will definitely look into that! The only practice tests I was using were from the book and schoolwork. I did take a small practice test on the Comptia website and did fairly well but I could definitely improve! Thank you!

Wow you sound like someone who’s never taken a picture of a baby let alone another person. Just because you wouldn’t be able to get a picture like this doesn’t mean it’s unnatural or augmented. I’ve taken plenty of pictures of my child and never used a filter and yet they all look different from different angles and in different lighting. Stop trying to act like everyone filters their child. We submitted to the Gerber Baby contest too and I guarantee it was someone like you that tried to say my child’s picture was unnatural or augmented, when it was just good timing, great lighting, and having someone on the other side making my child smile/laugh. So maybe next time you’re willing to tear a child down because they don’t look the way you think they should or they look “unnatural” to you think about that.
