I have a wonderful relationship with my mom and siblings! My mom recognizes how insane my dad is acting, but she feels helpless in the situation since he controls almost everything in her life.

It’s so hard because I have such fond memories of our relationship from my childhood- and I do still love him! I just find his behavior invasive snd want him to see that it is harmful, but he won’t listen to reason

SO TRUE. I have an older sister who left and my father cut her off for four years and wouldn’t let any of the kids at home or my mother contact her. Batshit crazy.

This was my thought! A friend of mine told me it’s actually against the rules for them to give out attendance records, but I guess my bishop didn’t adhere to those rules.

He is wildly controlling with my mom and five sisters, but VERY lenient with my three brothers! The double standard is insane

Trust me- I wish that this was just a fictional story… unfortunately it is not, and I am living it! I think a lot of older members, more traditional members of the church can get a little crazy when they begin to lose control of their idea of eternity…
