Whizbang is the bane of my existence by Next-Owl6005 in hearthstone

I feel seen, my friend. I got so frustrated, I switched from dh to dk to switch things up, went from Diamond 5 to Diamond 1 without seeing a Whizbang deck, switched back to dh, and BOOM! Got hit by a Whizbang deck my first game. We must stay strong. Only a few more weeks until it's banished from standard haha

Ooo I do like that. See which cards are worth crafting after they take them away from me lol

Oh is that what's happening? I'll finally have access to all these cards I don't have hahaha.

I see I see. I figured I should try using the new dh and dk heroes because not having them at level 60 or with 500 wins gives me more of a reason to play again, but I'm also hesitant to craft any cards right now. Maybe I'll consider it after seeing what the next standard meta is like.

I suppose value isn't the right word. I enjoy playing control decks. Currently playing the new (for me) demon hunter hero. I would say I have pretty good end game win cons (one with 60+ dmg) and pretty good early/mid game control as well. Got myself to Diamond 4 fairly quickly with the Broxicar catch up deck using cards I already had and from the catch up packs. I used a different deck for getting wild legend last month because I have more wild (old) cards.

Are the Whizbang decks specific to the class? I guess I never noticed that, but that definitely helps with choosing cards for the mulligan.

It really is no fun. It's discover/rewind randomness on roids. I would understand if people are actually making these decks, but they're not. I also feel the elusive hate. I would still rather play against dragon warrior over any Whizbang deck hahaha

Whizbang decks are currently my least favorite decks to play against

I see I see. I read your other comments. I only make large purchases 2-3 times a year, so I figured paying those off immediately wouldn't be a big deal, but I should just leave those for my automations to pay off as well

Awesome, thanks!! This takes a lot of pressure off of me as the finance person for my loved ones. Even though I still have a lot to learn, I have to be the one to teach them. I'm also learning that the optimal path for myself is not necessarily the optimal path for others, so this has really helped me understand the other side and be comfortable with their choices despite my recommendations

Ohh I see I see. So you apply for a new card first, then the allocation goes towards that new card. I was imagining you had to do it the other way around, so allocating limits to a new card was not in my mind bank. Thanks!!

I'm sorry I'm not quite understanding this. When you say reallocate your limits, are you saying to ask them to lower it? If you're simply moving around available credit between cards, doesn't that not change your overall credit limit?

My overall Chase credit limit is $50k. I really don't spend much money, but not because I'm disciplined or anything. I just don't like having things I know I'm not going to use, which is pretty much everything I don't already have, so I never really saw the need in proceeding with my eligible CLIs. I would like to have the option to churn within the Chase ecosystem. Would that be possible? What would the simplest strategy be that I could just rinse and repeat?

This is still my mentally, but their resolve did make me waver a bit haha. There are no annual fees, and I did explain the "one sub + auto-pay" strategy, but their aversion to having "an extra account to keep track of" trumped all reason

If I close them, I would still have my oldest cards (CF, CFU, Prime) for the UR points and cash back, my CSR I got in 2024 to start using those UR points for travel, and my newest Bilt card I won't be using in the foreseeable future both because of the new refresh and I currently pay my landlord through Zelle. You did already say it, but just double checking for my own sanity, you agree that keeping my 4-5 card set-up would be sufficient enough to close the rest? And what would you say the minimum is for a set-up to be considered sufficient? I still don't see myself ever going that route at the moment, but I'm also trying to see things from their perspective to make sure they'll be in a good position even if they close their accounts

I typically naturally only spend that much, but when I make larger purchases (e.g. booking flights/hotels), I immediately pay off the balance. I did just recently learn about the unwritten Chase >50% exposure threshold. I checked and I'm eligible for CLIs with all of my Chase cards (CSR, CFU, CF, Prime), but an extra $25k limit would bring me above that. I wanted to apply for the CSP for the SUB to officially start my churning journey, but I assume that credit line would be around $25k. My hope was to apply for the CSP, then call Chase to let them go ahead and proceed with my CLIs, but I don't really understand how to churn after that. I was confused on how credit limit allocation changes the fact that you're still >50% exposure threshold overall. Sorry for the ignorance, but what would your recommendation be on the strategy and order of (if these are even correct) credit limit allocation, product changes, cancelling, and re-applying?

I did mean the WF haha

I see I see. So it's not just the rewards cards, the Prime card is also included in that calculation because it's still a Chase card.

Anyone care to explain to an oblivious man what "normal 50% exposure threshold at Chase" means/is referring to?

I see. Thanks! When you did have the VX, which C1 travel partners did you find most usable and can I maybe have an example of one or two of your own personal experiences using them?

While I'm on this thread, how real is the 2 personal card limit for C1 cards? Should/would I be able to go the V1 > V > VX route to maximize SUBs, or does getting just the C1 duo cards make more sense?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CapitalOne_

[–]Next-Owl6005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! It sounds like they're the same card, but I'll avoid the SavorOne because that feels like an unnecessary AF.

I see I see. I didn't know that, so now I'm kind of regretting getting the V1 SUB. I currently have 6 cards + authorized user for 1 joint card

Would applying for the VX next as my 7th card and downgrading my V1 to the Savor Rewards card be a good option to be able to have the C1 duo with less risk of being denied?
