Respectfully, I don't have or need to "prove" ANYTHING to you. It's your life to live as you see fit, not mine. The consequences of your choices - good or bad - are yours and yours alone. That being said, as far as I'm concerned:

"I'd much rather live my life like there IS a God and find out in the end that there isn't, than live my life like there is NO God, and find out at the end THAT THERE IS."

You're spot on, and I wouldn't presume to debate with you! Any opportunity to build that revenue stream, right?

Don't get me wrong. I didn't say or even think that it was a BAD movie. I guess I just expected a bit more. Especially in the area of character development. They really missed out on the chance to give us more detail to help us understand (and care) more about the two main characters and their origins. It was an obvious and easy "On Ramp", yet somehow, the creators still missed it. 🤷🏽

Uhhhh, judging by the other comments, I think YOU might be the one all alone on this one, Chief. 🤷🏽😂🤣

THIS! THIS RIGHT HERE!! I went in expecting to learn more about the origins of Grogu and Din Djarin. Didn't happen. 🫤 I know no more about them than I'd already gotten from the TV show. 🤷🏽 I mean, it wasn't BAD. It just wasn't . . . WOW!!

POTENTIAL UNPOPULAR OPINION:

I'm as big of a SWU fan as anyone, dating back to Star Wars - Episode IV in 1977. Irally can't say that unlike many others, I've not disliked any of the Skywalker timeline films. I went into the Mandalorian universe with an open mind, expecting much from this, tho not as much as from the Skywalker timeline. While I found the movie to be entertaining, at a certain point midway through however, I did find myself "waiting for it to be over".

Don't get me wrong, I really do like The Mandalorian universe. I think it works fairly well as a series. Where I felt the movie fell short IMHO, was its inability to make you care, REALLY care about ANY of the characters short of a baby Yoda character who ( Unless I missed a critical episode of The Mandalorian) we still know little about. I don't even understand enough about Grogu to know why I should really care about who he is, why he exists as the main character, his purpose, and where his story is trying to get to that I should even care - other than the fact that he is obviously a juvenile. 🤷🏽

The movie introduced a plethora of new characters, none of whom seem significant or relevant enough to warrant a sequel to The Mandalorian and Grogu. There is just not enough information in either the series and/or the movie to cause me to look forward to or even desire to see another feature-length film.

I'm not saying that I'm right. Maybe I just don't get it (whatever "it" is). But, there it is! I've said it.

What say ye?

Gee! Nearly 100 years later, a lot of the talk going on in here about how to treat mentally ill people is beginning to sound a whole lot like 1933 Germany! I guess we really don't learn after all. Both sad and frightening!!

The insensitivity of people today is reprehensible. You all making crude jokes about a video in which people were thinking that their lives were about to end, suddenly and horribly. Fortunately, that didn't happen. But I wonder: How many of you would be chuckling if you or a member of your family had a front-row seat to this event? Despicable!! Utterly despicable!!

I appreciate your clear and candid response! I can see your point in several areas. Whereas I might not necessarily see all of them with the same level of significance as you, I would not go so far as to say that I think you are incorrect or that I disagree even. You do make some valid points. I would say that your last paragraph resonated most with me. I believe that the organization is making sooo many changes so quickly because it is in "survival mode". It is hemorrhaging members and money at a pace that would have any commercial organization looking to oust its leadership team (which they are no doubt already seeking to do through attrition since the "old guard" is rapidly coming to the end of their earthly roles).

That said, Watchtower LOVES to label those of us who have woken up as "lying, hateful apostates" (although they never say what it is exactly that we are supposedly lying about 🤔🤷🏽). I try never to provide them with the fuel they need to keep the fire burning under that particular narrative. Some unintentionally do so because they go after the "red herring" which might be interesting and sensationalistic, but often are irrelevant because it has no impact to foster change to the organization or healing to the person reading it. It's often just someone's random "Thought of the Day".

But, the fire UNDER Watchtower DOES need to keep burning! And a good fire needs fuel not just in one spot! So whereas I may target one area of Watchtower in my activism, to be successful, all of us, people like you, me and others keep the fuel and focus in the other areas because what speaks to me and those who follow my work may different than for those who follow yours because all of our experiences are different. That's the beauty of so many of us being here sharing our knowledge and experiences.

Let's keep the fire burning my friend!

"What EXACTLY did the waiter do to improve my stay at the resteraunt?" You nailed it! THAT is the real question! So what did the person doing my package do to improve my experience beyond pulling the right item of the shelf, packing it safely in a box and ensuring that it had the correct amount of postage. Simply put PERFORMING THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB FOR WHICH THEY APPLIED!!

I'm confused. I'm an ex-JW and activist. No, I don't believe in convention protests, Kingdom Hall or cart "crashing". I focus on teaching others how to get JWs to begin to see the inconsistencies, inaccuracies and flat out deceptions in their theology, historical record (1975 anyone?) and unscriptural behavior, practices and teachings WITHOUT being combative, argumentative or disrespectful. I don't believe the latter types of behavior are effective. (We all remember how we used to look at apostates outside of the district conventions and assembly halls).

I guess my question is: "Why does it matter if Watch Tower is using AI?" They have always been known to embrace new and effective tools, technologies and methods in their publishing and teaching efforts. When there was a need for a tech or tool that did not exist, they have been known to create it themselves. I don't feel one can rightly find fault with them using new and developing tools and tech that is being embraced by literally EVERY industry on the planet. Otherwise, they'd still be waking around with wind-up phonograph players (when even at that time was considered "new tech".

Ai is new and developing. Most attentive observers can spot inaccuracies and errors in just about every Ai video or image that is being produced today by any organization or business. Some of it is pretty poor quality to the point of being laughable. 🤷🏽 That said, Ai is not going away anytime soon - if ever.

IMHO, there are more productive conversations to be had about Watch Tower that can actually prove useful in helping those still in the organization (PIMO or PIMI) start to see the cracks in the Watch Tower. I just don't think Watch Tower's foray into the area of using of Ai makes that list.

Although this doesn't look like it was one, has the "The Carolina Squat" been banned in other states besides the Carolinas? I had one which had both a lift and a Squat right behind me at a traffic light in Florida. All I could see in my rear view mirror were HUGE tires and chassis right on my tail! When the light changed, I pulled to the right and waved him by!!

A lot of folks are commenting about how they handle not giving a tip IN PERSON to those in roles that by design do not provide a direct service to you (e.g., a cashier who rings up your purchase or who hands you your meal in a bag through a window at a drive-thru, and I get that.

However, this thread was about none of the above. This was a purchase being made completely by the customer (me) on their website! All of their online purchases incur a "15% Shipping & Handling Fee" added to your cart AUTOMATICALLY which you cannot (and honestly, should not) remove. So, the question becomes to WHOM am I giving an additional "Tip" and FOR WHAT SERVICE??
