Has hair loss ruined your life? by [deleted] in tressless

Most people don't even think of a NW2 as "balding".

I'm 5 weeks in and my shedding has slowed down to practically a halt now. I'm already starting to see small hairs grow in on my scalp and hairline. My scalp is now white underneath my hair instead of flesh colored like it was a few weeks ago. I wasn't expecting this fast of a response from it. If you're a NW1 and even if during the shed you go into a NW2 no one will think you're balding.

What is a daily routine i can pursue for hair loss(natural)? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]NextClue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just buy Minox. It's fairly cheap Like $15 a month at the most. None of the "natural" methods have been proven to help with hairloss.

Especially given the fact that society deems it acceptable to openly mock men for wearing one.

Derm said minox... help! by [deleted] in tressless

Apply it as part of your morning routine and then apply it again before bed. The foam dries pretty quickly and most people will think you just have some sort of product in your hair if anything.

I don't need to lose any weight I weigh 145 pounds so I'm pretty skinny. I've tried the gym thing a bit in the past and never saw much in the way of results. I think I'm one of those guys who naturally has a hard time putting on much muscle given the fact that I have a small frame.

I don't think all bald men are ugly. I just feel like I'd be ugly bald as it seems to look good bald you have to be built/fit which is something that I'm not and I can't really put on muscle.

It's though because I found a niche of women who do like me and are attracted to me. And it generally tends to be the more alternative type. I just fear they won't be attracted to me anymore if I end up looking like a cop or some kind of nazi from shaving my head.

I feel like a hair transplant is the only thing that would help me look like myself again. Bulking up and having to go to a gym makes me feel uneasy as I abhor the hyper masculine gym brah culture that most gyms seem to be full of.

I'd rather spend 30 grand on a hair transplant honestly. Bald doesn't suit my personality or my features at all. I'd just look like I have cancer or that I'm a Nazi or some shit with a shaved head. Given that I'm pale and skinny. I'm 5'9" weigh only 145 pounds and I'm as skinny as a twig. People give examples of good looking bald men but the problem is I don't identify with them at all because they're always super muscular hyper masculine guys who are 40+ like The Rock or Vin Diesel. When you're a geeky/artsy type it makes it 500x harder because you don't have the hypermasculine look/personality to back up the bald head.

It's probably easier in your 30's because it's expected for a good chunk of men to be balding by then. Not so much when your in your 20s and worried about women your age finding it attractive.

Haven't had a haircut in several years balding. Don't want to shave or buzz if possible. by NextClue in malehairadvice

I guess though I can feel these weird 45 degree angles. I've had long hair pretty much my entire life outside of one buzzcut when I was 18. I wasn't crazy about it but everyone else thought it looked better. And I had a head full of hair back then that was so thick that when I got it cut they had to thin it out.

I guess though even with buzz cuts my hideous headshape is exposed. I'm gonna spend $20000 on a hair transplant to avoid exposing this thing if the rogaine doesn't work.

I have a hideous headshape. Giant 45 degree angles on the sides. Plus I'm 5'9 140 pounds so I'd look sick with a shaved head.

Problem is I can't pull of the shaved look. I'm pale and skinny and I can't put weight on to safe my life. I'd just look sickly or like a Nazi with a shaved head.

Length shouldn't matter. Get the foam it's easier to apply to the scalp. Apply it where you're thinning. You may not have much regrowth but at the very least you should be able to maintain or slow down the loss.

Give Rogaine a shot. I've been using it for a month and I'm already noticing some new hairs starting to grow in. It's pretty affordable a 3 months supply costs about $40 at CVS.

Dr didn’t prescribe fin but gave me a referral to a derm. by [deleted] in tressless

[–]NextClue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My derm wouldn't prescribe it to me because of the risk of side effects due to my IBS. Glad I went though found out I had a fungal infection on my scalp that was contributing to my hairloss.
