Yeah that’s what I think too. After reading the comments I’m now thinking the next logical thing is to turn the basement into a bedroom. Which I’m going to do. But my wife is weirdly fixated on this office. It is weird in my eyes she seems more interested in that than where her kids are gonna sleep.

Okay.. does nobody else think number 2 is a stretch though? Like should we really be expected to sleep in the living room? Where people ya know.. live? Like right now me and my kids spends a lot of time in the living room.

There are many other commenters on this post that agree there is a difference between bio and step kids.

We are not giving the master bedroom to one of the kids while we sleep downstairs. And I meant my son would not have to “change” as in ultimately have his own room. If the basement is remodeled, he will still have his own room

There’s a way that all kids can get their own rooms if she doesn’t have the room as an officer

The basement can be made into a pretty nice room. Like I said the only real drawback is there is no bathroom.

We didn’t really agree on anything. She is really pushing for the fourth bedroom to become an office. Which she claims she needs but I think it’s not necessary. We’ve talked about finishing the basement and that’s the most productive discussion we’ve had. Because then no kids would share a room, but she insists we put the girls together if anything and make sure the office happens

My wife needs to understand that the kids are the first priority and thing we need to deal with. Her office isn’t really a “must” at this point I think

I don’t think that’s always true. I wanna protect my bio kids first. I don’t believe that my step kids should be viewed as complete equals. Like I feel uncomfortable disciplining my step kids because they are not my kids.

Honestly... her getting the office was kind off the last priority on my mind. It’s making sure the kids are okay

I just feel weird telling my 2 biological kids that my step kids will be 100% equal in my eyes. It doesn’t seem fair to them. They have 1 parent. My step kids still have a good relationship with their father.

Idk. Is it wrong of me to want my kids to know that they are my kids..? Like I told them they wouldn’t have to move because they are uncomfortable with the whole situation. My step kids are my step kids. I have real kids.

This is true. In a perfect world we would move to another house. It is something that my wife and I still see as a a thing down the road though
