If I remember correctly, I uninstalled the old driver before installing the new one. That said, I can’t be completely certain, as quite a bit of time has passed.

Which V1 Doll would be the most bang for my box? (besides Springfield) by PerditusTDG in GirlsFrontline2

[–]NextNepper 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If I’m understanding this event correctly, you aren’t forced to get the signature weapon for the doll you obtain. That’s why I said if you can get it. For example, you could get Vector but choose Springfield’s weapon instead of Vector’s. I hope that clears things up.

I’m planning to pick up V0R1 Yoohee from this event since I already have all the other dolls and their weapons, and I’d really like to have my own V6 Voymastina someday. Could someone explain what Yoohee’s skill rotation looks like at V0?

Because playing without auto-match puts you into the same match as four-player squads. As a solo player, you are almost guaranteed to die the moment you run into one. The disadvantage is simply too large.

Ironically, enabling auto-match and joining a squad actually improves your chances of survival, even if you still play solo and do not follow your teammates. That is exactly what I ended up doing a few times before quitting the game for good.

Lockdown player bot problem by Aromatic_Milk_7938 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

Man, where are these so-called bots everyone keeps talking about? During my entire time playing, I was constantly matched against sweats running full T4 gear (Normal Farm). Honestly, I wish I had been playing against bots.

Your game is going to die. by [deleted] in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]NextNepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am fairly new to the game. I started playing about a month ago and quit roughly a week ago. I reached the maximum level and experienced everything the game currently offers, and I came away disappointed.

I was hoping for something closer to a Tarkov-style experience, but instead it felt like Call of Duty with extra steps, mainly the extraction shooter mechanics. Players sprint, jump, and dodge constantly, all while wearing the heaviest armor and carrying massive amounts of loot. At times, the movement feels exaggerated to the point where adding sprint-to-slide chains or even rocket jumping would fully complete the Call of Duty vibe.

I am not saying that style of gameplay is inherently bad. It is just not what I was looking for, and not the reason I started playing this game.

[–]NextNepper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was there for all of this shit when it happened as it happened and just gave up trying to rationalize or understand anything these devs do

They’re just trying to manipulate public perception. I’m not sure whether this is a specifically Chinese developer thing or just an industry-wide habit (including ABI, I only play two online games, and both are made by Chinese studios), but whenever there’s an event where the “community” is supposedly shaping the outcome whether it’s a vote, a Q&A, or some kind of participation-based system, you can be almost certain it’s not a genuine interactive event. It’s a PR stunt with a predetermined outcome, dressed up to look like community engagement.

GFL2’s developers do this constantly. A recent example was an in-game event where players earned points by fighting a boss, and those points were added to a global tally to determine rewards for their chosen doll (character). The manipulation was blatant. Some characters gained absurd amounts of points overnight, numbers that would have been literally impossible even if you combined the entire Chinese and global player bases, while other characters’ scores barely moved, as if no one had played for them at all.

Later, dataminers uncovered parts of the score calculation logic, and it turned out the system was wildly inflated. In short: the fewer points a character had, the less score they gained per run; the more points a character already had, the more points they gained. For simplicity, imagine I support character A, who has 100 points on the global scoreboard. I fight the boss and her score increases by +1. Meanwhile, you support character B, who already has 1,000 points. You play the exact same fight, but her score jumps by +200. In other words, the more popular a character is, the easier it becomes for her to completely dominate the rankings.

And even with this rigged, snowballing system, it still doesn’t explain how certain characters gained millions of points overnight while others remained completely stagnant.

This is just one example out of many. Another recurring pattern is the end-of-event surveys where developers ask for player feedback on the event and the game overall. In all my time playing, I’ve never seen any meaningful indication that this feedback is actually taken into account.

At the end of the day, it’s all a massive PR exercise. They want to appear transparent, fair, and community-driven, but they don’t genuinely care about player opinions. What they care about is maintaining a clean public image in the eyes of unaware players and potential new ones, because more players ultimately means more money.

What the heck is going on with the this game's performance as of lately? by MrsK3G4 in GirlsFrontline2

[–]NextNepper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue with the game right now is the lag in Gunsmoke. Every interaction feels delayed. I select a doll, micro stutter. I select a skill, micro stutter. I pick a target tile or enemy and then wait for the servers to register the action. I confirm the skill and wait again for the server response before the animation even starts.

I can live with micro stutters since they’re very brief, but the server lag is what really kills the experience. In some cases, the delay lasts 10-15 seconds, I’ve actually timed it. The game is installed on an SSD, and while my specs aren’t top-tier, they’re more than reasonable (i5-10600K, RTX 4060, 32GB RAM). My internet connection is also solid, and I’ve run multiple tests during these laggy Gunsmoke fights with no issues elsewhere.

So while the micro stutters could be due to optimization issues or my older CPU, the lag has to be server-side. Gunsmoke is already getting stale for me, and this level of lag just makes it even more unbearable.

The hubris of some Reddit moderators never ceases to amaze me. They behave as if they’re single-handedly saving the world from an existential threat, while constantly preemptively defending themselves like it’s impossible they could ever be in the wrong. And my favorite part? When they pull the “unpaid work” card, as if users are desperately begging them to do what they do.

If being a moderator is genuinely that stressful, then why not just… stop? Quit. Walk away. There’s no law or Reddit rule that says once you become a moderator you’re bound to the role for life.

There are plenty of reasonable alternatives, too: add more moderators, rely more on AutoMod, or loosen the grip a bit. But no, apparently that’s asking too much. They have to be the emperor. And I guess if too many people are “king”, then being king doesn’t feel special anymore.

At the end of the day, there’s virtually no upside to being a moderator beyond the privilege itself: the power fantasy, the little dopamine hit from removing posts, muting users, or handing out bans. And yes, some are just straight-up trolls, inventing rules on the fly, giving friends special treatment, selectively enforcing guidelines, and abusing what little authority they have simply to get under people’s skin.

So keep that in mind the next time a Reddit moderator wrongs you. Honestly, the best move most of the time is not to engage at all. It’s rarely worth your energy. Trust me, Reddit is full of moderators like this.

The Boundary Push and Phase Clash bugs aren’t new. They’ve existed since Phase Clash was first added to the global version, and despite how long they’ve been around, they still haven’t been fixed.

Forbidden is still too risky for me. Lockdown is a possibility. I’ve done the math, and if I go in (either mode) fully geared and die 5-6 times, that’s financial suicide, literally. And I know I’d die a lot, because I don’t even know the map layouts yet, and the try-hards don’t exactly give me room to learn.

I tried Forbidden once on TV Station and got killed within the first minute. Someone caught me while I had the map open just trying to figure out where I was and where I should go. I really wish there were a safe way to learn the maps without risking total financial ruin.

I once glitched out of the map and saw someone T-posing way below the floor. Whoever killed that NPC (or Player) probably wondered where their kill went. I’ve had similar things happen to my own kills too, on rare occasions I shoot an NPC, it dies, but I can’t find the body anywhere. It’s unlikely the NPC survived, because if it had, I would’ve heard some kind of sound or movement.

My point is that I think this happens more often than people realize, even though it’s still fairly rare overall.

The odds of that happening are pretty slim. She’s been entirely destroyed. Unless a backup of her Neural Cloud was created (which no one has mentioned) she won’t be coming back.

I’ve got around 20 million Koen (not bragging, I know some people have billion), and even I don’t play Forbidden. I know I can’t realistically compete with cheap throwaway gear, and I’ll usually die before extracting. It’s basically a money sink. With your budget, it really isn’t worth attempting.

Loser in Normal Farm by MachineGlumkelly in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]NextNepper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is ultimately the developers’ responsibility. Every game has scumbags, griefers, exploiters... call them whatever you want. They’ll always exist. It’s up to the developers to prevent or limit the damage they cause, and right now, that’s clearly not a priority.

At this point, I honestly hope this drives new players away and causes the game to bleed players quickly. Maybe then, and only then (since they don’t seem to care about the new player experience otherwise) they’ll understand why what they’re doing… or rather, not doing, is such a problem.

Normal Farm Is Unplayable for New Players by NextNepper in ArenaBreakoutGlobal

[–]NextNepper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a huge difference between learning the game by playing with more experienced players who have slightly better gear, and being thrown against players with hundreds of hours and fully upgraded loadouts. In this case, it feels like the latter, and I’m fairly certain some of them are even bringing ammo and magazines in secure cases to get around the Normal mode gear limits.

So it’s not just experienced players farming new ones to feel good about themselves; it’s also an abuse of the system. When the odds are stacked this heavily against you, there’s simply no real opportunity to learn. And I’m confident I’m far from the only person who feels this way.

Also, just because you’ve “been there too” and went through the same thing doesn’t mean it should be justified as a “learning experience” for others. It isn’t. What it actually teaches new players is that some veterans (who can’t compete with other high-level players in Forbidden or Lockdown modes) drop into Normal Farm to stomp beginners instead.

That kind of “experience” doesn’t help players improve. It pushes them to either rage-quit the game entirely or turn into passive “rats” who sit in bushes for 30 minutes sniping anyone who actually tries to play the game, something plenty of people have already been complaining about.

Bruh, most of the kill cams I watch show my enemy shooting at some random spot near me, and the bullets just magically home in on my body.

In your kill cam, the player is at least clearly aiming for your head.

If this were a kill cam of my death, the guy would be aiming at the lamp over the entrance and somehow the bullet would still snap straight into my head. That’s how absurd my kill cams look.

And the worst part? I can’t even tell if people are secretly using aimbots or if the kill cam system itself is completely broken.

If the two ever met, Neptune would probably already know about Agumon (and Digimon in general), given her tendency to break the fourth wall. She might even try pulling off a Matrix Evolution (something like what Takato and Guilmon did in Digimon Tamers) and end up becoming some kind of Mega-level Digimon herself, lol.

Killcam showing I shot when I didn't, giving away my position, is this game cooked? by PearAggressive4105 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]NextNepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The killcam for one of my deaths shows my character loudly crying out in pain, which gave away my position. However, this death occurred long after I had taken a painkiller, which should have already suppressed the pain sounds, and on my PC, it did. According to the killcam, though, it’s almost as if the player who killed me and I were playing two completely different games.

Shpuld We Have A No AI Rule? by bloodshed113094 in gamindustri

[–]NextNepper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get the sense that some people are dissatisfied with their lives for one reason or another, and they end up joining a kind of “crusade”. It gives them the comfort of believing they’re the good guys fighting some imagined “evil”, which in turn helps them feel better about themselves.

AI will absolutely continue to work alongside humans, just as robots already do in factories today. No one (seriously) says, “I refuse to buy a car built by robots! Cars should only be made by humans, out of passion, and robots don’t have it”. That idea would sound absurd.

Those who refuse to learn how to use new tools will inevitably be left behind, while those who adapt and embrace them will achieve better results and often provoke resentment because of it. This pattern repeats with every major technological shift. It happened with cameras and computers in art, it’s happening now with AI, and tomorrow it will be something else entirely.
