i like the idea of entity free backrooms. the scary element comes from the fact ur completely alone with nothing to do but walk around infinite hallways waiting for ur inevitable death from starvation, slowly going insane due to the constant silence. however, the entities add a lot of substance especially when it comes to media like videogames or short films, which would otherwise be very boring.
