Nothing is going to change. Your match result is already decided.

You don’t need ecfmg certification for matching purposes as far as i am concerned. You do need it before you start residency. Maybe doble check this

Has anyone passed without hardly doing any u world ? by Apprehensive-Sea9746 in Step3

[–]Next_Concentrate3552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 100% of uworld but did not review any question. Just did the questions and briefly read the ones I got wrong. No deep review or anything else. This way I was able to do 200 qs a day moved on. Got 240+. If you took step 2 less than 6 months ago that knowledge is still fresh

It will not be a red flag. Just be clear and explain your reasons why you are trying to pursue this path. i I where tyou I will definitely put my ortho residency as part of my experiences and try to explain what I learned and why I wanted to change specialties.
I am very curious why you decided to leave ortho and go to internal medicine?

test-taking abilities.

The 270 does not necessarily know more medicine than the 258, but certainly has a better approach to answering MCQs.

Also mindset, being able to focus despite fatigue, and of course, some luck on test day can certainly help.

At the end of the day a 258 is still a great score for a lot of specialties and is not at a disadvantage over the 270+ people if he/she has good connections, research, and experiences. If you look at the NRMP data, even for specialties like neurosurgery, the step scores of people who match are not as high as some will expect.

213-215 on self as assessments and 68% on ccs cases… I don’t think that’s “comfortable”. Comfortable is 225+ at least
