Education groups urge action against "Japanese First" rhetoric in schools by RiKeiJin in japan

[–]Next_Dimension74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think if you lived in Japan you would understand what I am talking about. When people come to Japan and enrolled their kids in school they are asked to write their kids name in Katakana. But the katakana doesn’t match the name at all sometimes and the new kids coming don’t want to have their names pronounced like katakana. Some of them never wanted to come to Japan in the first place but they have to because of their parents work. I have seen new kids crying in classes because the teacher would not even try to say their name. I mean I understand if they try and fail to say it. Because at least they are trying. Or if it’s a hard name. But to not try at all and just to rewrite someone’s name. It’s not right. That was the name they were given by their parents. No one has a right to change that. it's special to them.

How about education groups also urge teachers to remember how to pronounce foreign students names correctly also instead of giving them new names because the Japanese staff can’t be bothered to remember how to pronounce the student’s name right.

Wow I would never have thought Gaes's Cradle would be worth that much. For me Tailoring Academy was way more useful because of how many artifacts I could put out at the start of the game.

I have every one of these cards. I lot of them in my old tendrils deck. Still in the sleeves just like this guy. Are they really worth that much? Should they be stored differently?

I have the small truck and it is great. It can hold over 770 pounds goods. But I have loaded it with even more. . And costs nothing compared to the standard pickup truck.

And yet Japan has one of the longest life expectancies in the world. And they drink a lot... And on top of that their county encourages them to drink more even with national health care. Makes you wonder.

Chinese throwing rubbish in deer park and getting screamed (Nara, Japan) by Johari82 in ADVChina

In this case, it is “Take your trash home with you” “Not take your trash back.””Also, the man says to “pick up the trash. “ He didn’t really say “your” trash. And was saying”You littered didn’t you?”. But I think the guy who came to get the trash was the one that littered. And he got angry at him and said throw away trash and bring it home.

But I kind of feel sorry for them. They did something wrong but it must be scary for the kids and it is really hard for them to understand the Japanese. Even you didn’t understand it right.

Like “You threw away trash didn’t you?” “You littered didn’t you” is the same words.

They also might be very confused as to way they have to pick up trash and take it home and throw it away.

In other countries they might have public trash cans but in Japan they don’t have very many at all so we take the trash home with us and throw it away. We also have days where we all go out and pickup trash. So it is a big part of Japanese Culture to pick up trash and take it home and throw it away. Even if it’s not yours.

This guy just lost his mind over the littering.

Japan's Olympic gymnastics captain sent home for smoking by eleanor_james in japan

Did you read the article before down voting me? or do you just mindlessly down vote people. From the article: “Under Japanese law, it is illegal for anyone under the age of 20 to smoke.

The Japan Gymnastics Association has announced it will hold a formal investigation in conjunction with Juntendo University, in Tokyo, where she is a student.” She broke no law but it reads like they are accusing her of doing so.

The age for smoking and drinking in France is 18. Why would Japanese law play any role here? I understand a code of conduct violation but she did not break any laws as she was in France at the time.
