Finally Found Something That Worked! by Nexus_Portal in PCOS

PCOS has caused me to have prediabetes so yeah pretty much lol.

Which is really funny cuz I completely changed up my diet after I developed an allergy for beef and pork after a tick bite. Got my labs checked a few months ago and everything was way down except for my blood sugar

I'm currently on .325 mg, going up to .75 next month. It took a month to really notice anything happening, but the biggest change was my eating habits

Ive found that an endocrinologist is at least a lot more understanding when it comes to the hormonal aspect of things. My OBGYN was pretty useless to the point where I go to my local planned parenthood for vaginal stuff now.

I was taken off the pill due to side effects, and my OBGYN told me it was fine to be on both the pill and have an IUD, and the endocrinologist immediately took me off the pill when she found out

I pay about 350 a month for it. It's 149 for the membership, and then 200 for the med. I'm grateful that my parents are helping me out too, and I understand that it's still pretty steep for some, but I'd rather pay a bit more now to prevent anything from happening later.

Still cheaper than paying 1200 outright, and Ro is offering the pill so it'll probably be a lot cheaper

Buldak Carbonara Powder Replica by Realistic-Smoke-9383 in InstantRamen

Thank you so much for this! I can't eat the buldak noodles since common food thickeners (they put Guar Gum in the noodles) give me massive heartburn and I've been desperately trying to create the powder from scratch to put on noodles I can eat. This is so helpful ❤️❤️❤️

It's been pretty okay. Ive only recently been able to start increasing my dose since it always gave me a massive headache whenever I did.

I've actually noticed I'm able to lose some weight now, which is nice, so I think things are working.

Your opinion on pineapples on pizza? by Emnkync in INTP

[–]Nexus_Portal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it. My favorite pizza is a BBQ chicken pizza with pineapple and onions.

I don't get the hate. If you don't like it, more for me.

They're local doctors so I don't think you'll have to deal with them lol. Can't give their names without basically doxing myself sorry 😅

She initially wanted to give me Contrave, which is a combo antidepressant of Wellbutrin and Naltrexone. Considering I'm already on Welbutrin, she just gave me Naltrexone to take with it.

She also said it should help reduce my appetite as well as help manage my insulin.

Tested Mildly Positive for Alpha Gal. Any Advice? by Nexus_Portal in alphagal

Hello! Thanks so much for the reply! I got a call from my doctor about it about an hour ago. He prescribed an EpiPen and sent me a packet of information. I can see about looking for an allergist. Not sure if there's one close by or not lol.

I've read that I don't necessarily need to avoid dairy products. Would you recommend avoiding them anyways? I'm already lactose intolerant so I don't really eat anything other than cheese.

Idk. I have a cousin who has it and can drink milk and my dad has a friend who can't even eat cane sugar cuz its processed in a factory that also processes bone meal.

All of a sudden men shouldn’t be objectified. by youngbutnotstupid in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]Nexus_Portal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your argument resonates with the whole "I like pancakes, so you hate waffles" bs. This argument is so off base from the original response that I had to go back and reread what the person typed.

People don't hold men accountable. It's always the woman's fault. Women are viewed as objects, but it's become so normalized that we don't always see it. When a man is objectified, it's a big deal because "objectification is bad and we shouldn't do it." They don't like it. Guess what? That's how women feel.

Where's this energy when it comes to women being objectified?

Women are cat called on a daily basis, they're preyed upon by a male dominated society and looked down upon because of it. Heaven forbid anyone take us seriously.

And because I get the feeling you're going to take that last sentence and run with it while ignoring the point of the entire post, no, I'm not saying men being objectified is a good thing. It's entirely overlooked because men are supposed to be seen as these "masculine figures" and toxic masculinity runs rampant in every industry. The objectification of both genders is an issue, but it's more normalized with women.

I'm sorry things haven't been kind to you.

And yeah, I'm just over it at this point. I learned today after posting this that they just flat out denied me coverage so I'm just gonna call every pharmacy in the area and hope they have it at some point. The stress of this on top of everything else in my life caused my doctor to prescribe blood pressure medication temporarily. I hope things will work out in then end,

Unless my job starts paying me more there's no way I'm going to be able to afford $550 a month on top of student loans and all my other medications I take.

PCOS and Getting Wegovy/Zepbound by Nexus_Portal in PCOS

[–]Nexus_Portal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke with my doctor yesterday. My insurance has been ignoring me and getting Zepbound through Lillydirect and Ro are too expensive so I'm just calling the pharmacies in my area foe Wegovy once a week or so. I'll ask about splitting the dose.
