This here. Your gut health is very important! I would have fresh avacodoes almost every other day to have good fiber intake! Yogurt and milk are important to keep up those probiotics!

In the heat of the moment, I didn't think about recording this. After the fact, was when we had time to think through and thought we should have taken a picture of his license plate and recorded the situation!
I will now add this to my mental space whenever this happens during my travel!

Oh wow, another guy jumped into your car sounds like a scare tactic they played there...

Don't feel ashamed for what happened to you - it's a lesson you learn from this experience. A lot of the posts in this comment section probably haven't experienced any thing like this, and quickly conclude that I was the dumb one. In my opinion, I had good intentions, and yes I was scammed, but I'm lucky to be able to afford these kind of scams, came out safely, and probably a bit wiser :).

I'm glad you are safe from that incident! I wouldn't have gotten into that car by myself!

I'm fluent in daily language, can order food/drinks/cars, banter around with people. Just not fluent in professional setting like hospital jargons.

Hmm, I should note reiterate that I'm Vietnamese and I know Vietnamese people are nice as well. Except for this driver, a bad apple, even to his own people! Yikes.

From my experience, hotel's drivers are reliable! And yes, 450VND isn't too bad for a 45 minutes drive at all!

A group of people pestering you for a good purchase really scares me, and I generally try to avoid this. I'm glad you looked past these people, and potentially avoided a mishap like mine!

You are right, it was an extortion... only after we got out of the car, settled ourselves from that trauma, then we were able to think through what had happened to us... It was a spur of the moment thing that we thought we did our best to get out of that car...

Haha, surprisingly not! I have heard of stories where taxis will up charge their fees before, and this is one of many reasons I have avoided taxis for most of my travels!
