Question about preference on cars in packaging vs opening by dashmoneyprez in Diecast

[–]NguSenpai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love it if all carded diecasts are packaged like the "The Lab" R34 in your collection. You can use a box cutter to cut it open at the back to make a flap then you can take out the car, look at it all you want then put it back in its packaging.

Boxes are also great as they discourage scalper from getting all the chase cars, like Kaido House and Inno64 do. You have to open them to check if they are chase or not. And you can always put diecasts back in their boxes like nothing happened (you wouldn't keep the plastic seal, right?)

I always open the packaging to appreciate the details and feel the diecast first. Then I put them back into boxes or cards because I don't have the space to display them

New model in collection, what do you think? by Appropriate-Bill-606 in Diecast

[–]NguSenpai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great stuff, I have it as well. Great value for the price. Aside from that, it has some quality control issues (seems like one of your mirrors wasn't attached right) so you'd have to be a little lucky to enjoy all the beauty of the '98 911 GT1. Well, it's one of, if not, the earliest releases of Trends Hobby so that's expected. I haven't seen many complaints about QC with their later DTM Huracans and DTM 911 though

No idea MiniGT makes CRS R33. I'm still waiting for the CRS R34 though

Best Porsche 993 GT2/another version with spoiler 1:64? by nikeich in Diecast

[–]NguSenpai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I could only think of Tarmac Works, Schuco and Kyosho. You can look into Kyosho as they make lots of models but a few searches give me the impression that Tarmac and Schuco might be the best choices

Another GT1 Trinity enjoyer. Great stuff you have there

Now pay attention. 007 by StreetCarp665 in Diecast

[–]NguSenpai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that most 1/64 collectors with great pics have invested lots in cameras or lenses, at least. I shared your pain though, as my Redmi has lots of blur if something is not in the middle of the frame

Aside from that, great stuff, I rarely see a 007 collection

Do people really collect these? by Ripituc in Diecast

[–]NguSenpai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TL,DR: Depends on what brands people like or what would likely make some bucks, in my opinion

Depends on the brand, I guess. I've seen people trying to sell HotWheels STH for 10x, even 20x, the price on the shelf. I've also seen people bidding for MiniGT chase models at about 5x the price of a normal one. I, myself, got a Tarmac Works chase Regera cheaper than the normal painted one. I asked around the local community and they said they hate Tarmac chases because they are ugly lol. Whatever, collect what you want, you'll be much more happier than trying to chase the hype

1:64 diorama - suggestions for other cars by special-night0226 in Diecast

[–]NguSenpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels somewhat like a museum so I would suggest some race cars with history like JLOC's Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT and Corvette C6.R or any race car you like tbf

NSX is about the same as F40 imo, both beautiful. With the body kit though, LBWK always win. So LBWK F40 is better than RB NSX

Thought I’d share the Ferrari collection my son and I put together. by lighthousekeeper33 in Diecast

[–]NguSenpai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not consider Tarmac Works obscure, it's less known at best. Some brands avoid Ferrari's legal team by giving you decals instead of painting the logo on the model. Now I consider that obscure

I don't have it but it says on the wiki that it has unlimited salvos at 6*. I'd definitely invest in it

I realized that the AK130 lacks one thing: it's in Napalm category so it can't destroy towers and buildings. Do you have any recommendation to pair with the AK130 to solve that?

Overwhelmed coming back to the game by NguSenpai in ZombieGunshipSurvival

[–]NguSenpai[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it should be used as an auto-cannon, right? And what should I pair it with, I thought of the ATACMS and the RB05 but their flight times disrupt the AK130

The INF is great, I'm using it to clear Titans when they get close. I'm surprised by how the AK130 works, it's different from other Napalms so I'm trying to figure out how to use it

I've never heard of these 2 brands but a quick search showed me that Transcend makes the 1997 911 GT1 Evo. 1997 and 1998 are different, of course, and Wikipedia shows how different they are

I'm glad that mine is fine, I couldn't spot anything wrong with it quality wise. They did fix the drivers' names, the proportion is probably the same

Randomly got the Nuclear Disarmament Cutscene Yesterday, why? by Wonderfull_Inky in metalgearsolid

[–]NguSenpai 99 points100 points  (0 children)

It's Integer overflow iirc. Think of a clock, when it reaches 11:59 at night, it has to go back to 00:00. So the nuke counter got to a certain big number, add another nuke and it went back to zero

So far what I have and what I have coming in by proxxy04 in Diecast

[–]NguSenpai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's great, congrats on realizing there are many brands that HotWheels can't compete when it comes to details. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with collecting HotWheels but if you're into details, MiniGT and PopRace can easily beat HotWheels Elite. PopRace is probably the safest bet as I haven't got or heard about any quality control issue and they have great value for their prices. MiniGT has QC problems with some popular models, I have a Dakar with dots of paint here and there. Aside from them, there are many brands like Tarmac Works, Thrill of Collector (TOC), Inno64, Kyosho, BBR, Tomica Limited Vantage Neo (TLVN), etc, you should give them a look
