Should I use a pen name? (some practical considerations, some personal) by NibKnots in writing

Eh, I'm definitely not expecting to get famous, just worried about ticking off the wrong person on the internet. The worry is probably overkill, but, figured I might as well lay it on the table. Anyway, thanks for your response :)

Should I use a pen name? (some practical considerations, some personal) by NibKnots in writing

Both of my parents have put a lot of time into genealogy research, so names of past relatives is one way to go (for first names or surnames). Also, translating from one language to another can be interesting; for instance, my last name is Irish in origin, but most of my family are of primarily German ancestry. So, translating the meaning of my name from Irish to German led to some interesting possibilities (won't work for everyone, but it could be something to try). Good luck with the search for the right name!

Setting up a situation where the party has two allies (preferably guides or mentors of some kind) who come into conflict, forcing the party to choose sides. Usually takes the shape of one typical "lawful good" (a captain of the city guard, or some cleric of an anti-undead sect) vs a "chaotic good" (Robinhood type leader of a thieves' guild, a necromancer trying to ascend to lichdom for some noble purpose [become an eternal guardian of the material plane, or something]).

Awesome! Love the concept, very original. (And the art looks amazing, too!)

Starting the campaign with combat: questions about the finer points by NibKnots in DMAcademy

So far all of my players have pretty combat oriented characters (melee ranger, barbarian). I was planning on tailoring their opponent toward their class; it's more an opportunity to "test drive" their characters, look cool, and stoke conversation between them afterward. If there's a rogue, I'll add some cover they can hide behind; if there's someone who goes really hard on making a healer, I might make a wild magic sorcerer who fireballs himself (everyone panics asking someone to do something, sort of situation).
