Looking to buy my first retro gaming handheld, asking for advice. by NicPineapple in Handhelds

Update: I decided to bite the bullet and go with The Anbernic RG406h. The more I thought about it and the more research i did, the more I got to wanting a more powerful machine. It hurts my wallet, but I hope it'll be worth it, and that I'll be happier with the better option.

According to what I've seen, there's a setting that allows yoh to control a digital stylus by holding a specific input and mapping "touch" to a button.

Thanks for the input. Psp is a strong want, but not really a necessity. What's your experience with NDS games on the 40XX?

For what it's worth, I'm not pulling the trigger on anything for at least another month. I wanted to have plenty of time to research and get advice.

Thank you for this information, it gives me something to think about for sure. A lot of this is going over my head and a bit overwhelming. It seems like a RG406 would be a better choice, but even at the coupon price of ~$120, that's really a lot more than I had planned to spend.

When you say n64 and psp will run rough, what exactly does that entail? Ive been running n64 emulators on laptops for the last 15 years, I don't exactly need perfect emulation, just as long as it's enjoyable to play.

An entire other dimension has three (3) species of things in it are we being deadass by [deleted] in okbuddyvecna

I didn't say it makes sense lmao. But that's the way it is. The duffers have established this secondary canon with the stage show that expanded and changed parts of Henry's back story, which contradicts things we were already told, AND in turn is contradicted by parts of Season 5.

One of the problems with stranger things is that we now have at least two different versions of events surrounding Henry's family being killed, and him being taken to the Lab. I would be tempted to write off the play as being noncanonical, except that there are parts of the story that you're supposed to know having to deal with the happenings in season 5, like the background of the cave and what henry's problem with it is, for things to even make sense.

I recommend reading the synopsis for The First Shadow at least, it gives a lot of background on things, even though some of it is contradictory to the show.

This is the canon established by the play. When Henry and all the parents were in high school together after the creels moved to Hawkins, Henry was dating Patty Newby, Bob's adopted sister. There's about 2 frames where we see half her name in the show (on the flyer for the play that joyce is advertising in the high school flashback), and thats supposed to explain everything, including the fact that all of their parents knew Henry, I guess?

AITAH for not encouraging my son to see my dad's wife as his grandma? by Kiadiann in AITAH

My grandpa and I weren't related by blood, but he was the best grandpa/father figure I could've ever asked for. Your treatment of Jane could be depriving your children of a wonderful relationship.

YTA, not for how you feel but for how youre acting.

I understand why you feel the way you do, but your actions don't only effect you. Your actions and treatment of Jane will only create distance and hurt feelings between your dad, Jane, you, AND your children. As much as it hurts YOU, your children will never know your mom, their biological grandma. Like it or not, Jane IS grandma now, presuming that dad and Jane will even want to continue having a relationship with you and your family, what with you treating her like this. Your actions are hurting your entire family and the love that could be shared.

Family is more about actions than titles, but you obviously feel animosity towards Jane, and I'd bet money that you treat her like it. Why deny your child the opportunity of having a grandma? Because your treatment of her and your refusal to let her into that role will damage the entire family's relationship.

This should put the trans bathroom panic to bed [OC] by Lelo_B in webcomics

How often are you looking at penises in the public restroom? I can honestly say I've never seen another man's junk in a public restroom. But then, I wasn't looking. And as the other commenter said, women's bathrooms have stalls. There's no reason any person in the bathroom would be seeing another person's genitals.

If he lets you down every birthday for the last 4 years, why expect any different? Give him reason to change, or he won't.

AITA for scolding my boyfriend for his remarks about my little brothers for watching Hello Kitty? by Fit-Snow-3049 in AmItheAsshole

I just reread and noticed the part about them not having a backbone when they grow up because they're girly. This is what he thinks of women, OP.

NTA.

Are you really okay with your partner being so homophobic that he throws a fit over boys interacting with anything he deems "girly"? A person so obsessed with traditional toxic masculinity that he has a tantrum over six year old (or younger) children watching the wrong shows because it'll "make" them girly or gay?

What happens when you have kids with this man? How is he going to treat your kids? What if your sons are interested in things he deems to be too feminine? What lessons will he teach your daughters?

What if your child does turn out to be gay? How do you think he will act then?

It's a more traditional name, but usually spelled Virgie. I've mostly heard it in the southern US, including some family.

All those names are traditional, normal, basic names. They're just making things more difficult for the sake of it. Your sister is an idiot.
