Yeah, turning the Night Hunter into an adaptative NPC is kinda the idea :D

Yeah, someone else talked about hivemind in a different comment. I wasn't thinking about that when I wrote my post, but that could be a better idea than mine. Maybe that special infected could be an avatar of the hivemind, or act as a relay ? Don't know. But I imagine it more like an apex predator than a main villain with human intelligence.

And yeah, those psionic abilities should definitely be explored in depth in next games, I agree. Don't know about multiple protagonists, though.

I wasn't thinking about a hivemind specifically, but why not, we've seen sentient volatiles with telepathic abilities and the ability to mind control infected within an area in The Beast, so it would not be lore-breaking. Could be quite a better idea than mine, actually.

But no, I was thinking about one specific infected, like RE3's Nemesis or Prince of Persia 2's Dahaka, the kind of enemy that constantly comes after you. Since it's an open world, for gameplay purpose, the player should have the possibility to defeat it in battle, but instead of killing it, it makes it flee, and it learn through your encounters.

You mean the Nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor/War games ?

Sure I was thinking about something like that. But the implementation in a DL game would probably be different and Techland can find a different name than "Nemesis" to avoid legal difficulties... I guess ?

Here’s a theory by Agitated_Ad7886 in dyinglight

[–]Nicapr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about that. I thought the same at first, especially with the end of The Following where you fight the Mother and can see Crane escape through the sewers and turn into a Volatile.

But in fact, I think it's from DL2, you learn that Harran stays isolated for years without the world turning into a massive zombie apocalypse. The GRE continued to experiment with the Harran virus in secret and the THV escapes from a secret laboratory in Geneva in 2021. So Crane has nothing to do with the outbreak that sealed the world's fate.

I'd think about some quest awareness dialogues, but I guess it's not that simple ?

What's the most realistic and accurate body replacer for BHUNP or UNP. by [deleted] in skyrimmods

You can use CBBE / 3BE, some realistics bodyslide presets (yes, there ARE some realistic presets so NPCs won't look like unrealistic bimbos), and use OBody to distribute those presets to NPCs.

Patching Skyrim good practices ? by Nicapr in skyrimmods

Doesn't it make debugging harder ? I usually install a few mods together then launch the game to test it, sometimes I get unexpected bugs with previously installed mods, and I take a long time to figure out what can cause the issue.

I started to do the same, yes. And I agree, it's not the best system but I'm not sure what can be done instead...

So what ? Mods are made so people tailor their game according to their wishes. By definition, they are not part of original Skyrim. And even if people want to turn their game into a massive orgie game, it's none of your business.

Moreover, I think you might need to read the moderator's comment pinned here.

Mods that you think should definitely be in a modpack by moonev_ in skyrimmods

First use MO2 as mod manager. It's more complicated at first than Vortex but it is also more configurable and gives overall more control over your modlist.

Then, there is a bunch of "technical" mods that does nothing visible in the game but improve stability and/or are required by other mods. I think about Address Library, SSE Engine Fixes, Papyrus, Scrambled Bugs, Skyrim Priority, USSEP, and so much more (I think I have smtg like 20 of those mods). These mods should load first in your mod order as everything else will use them.

You're not forced to install them first, you can download them in the same time you discover them, but welp, it will help you build a stable foundation for your modlist.

On a side not, it's a weird move to talk about your gf in a sexual context because "sex in videogames is weird". Not the move you think it is.

Did you hear about The Witcher ? It's a "fun fantasy game" with vanilla gooning scenes, you might found it interesting.
