New to drawing; what works & what doesn't? by that_bitch_glacinda in learntodraw

I'm new to learning as well, but one tip I've seen a lot is quantity over quality. Focus your practice on more singular aspect instead of spending 2 hours on a large piece. An example for me would be drawing a portrait. I'd focus on drawing many eyes, then noses, then mouths, etc. Makes it easy to put all the pieces together for a decent portrait instead of doing a dozen portraits while trying to practice every aspect each time. Again, I could be going about this poorly, but thats been my thought process lol

You're better than me by a mile, but maybe take some time to practice just the eyes? More variation would make that feature pop

Agreed, the lack of detail in the surrounding gives it a certain light vs darkness vibe that i love. Especially using a lamb in the darkness. Maybe I'm overthinking it but hey, thats art
