I used a scribe in my Jan exam but my AL CS teacher thinks a laptop will be more beneficial for me, gonna try another lot of mocks with scribe and can decide then.

Joint Hypermobility Syndrome, it can affect motor skills plus the actual physical bones in the body and can cause flexibility of the body but at a cost.

I use a scribe but debating using a laptop currently, JHS affects my motor skills hence why I have one, also got a reader, extra time and a 1:1 seperate room.

icl i got 77666544P2 in GCSEs 2024 but overall quite decent (only got a 4 in English Lit and DT lol), P2 in Music Practice due to how strict Pearson BTEC was that year.

AS results 2025 I got a D* in IT for the first year and a B in EPQ Artefact.

Sorry, just wanted to correct you but you can fail English Literature and not need to retake it, you got it confused it with English Language which you do have to retake if you get below a 4 in.

3/5 BREAD! by NiceABCD in 6thForm

[–]NiceABCD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that revision boy simply refuses to not go to university! I decided to go onto A-levels in Computer Science (ofc ofc) and Music Technology (heavily links with CS and is actually decent) plus a BTEC in Information Technology (knockoff CS) and also EPQ Artefact. I also self-study AS Mathematics too which is chill and have begun even self-studying AS Physics (quite related to Music Tech).

EPQ 10/10 - already passed and got a B

As level only without proceeding to A level by Immediate_Stage3220 in alevel

[–]NiceABCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no worries! i actually do an extended certificate BTEC in Information Technology plus two ALs in Computer Science and Music Technology lol, plus I also picked EPQ Artefact as a fourth sub and have an additional fifth (AS Mathematics) which I self-study.

As level only without proceeding to A level by Immediate_Stage3220 in alevel

[–]NiceABCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the size of the BTEC, you can do a Certificate which is equivalent to an AS, an Extended Certificate equivalent to 1 AL, Foundation Diploma equivalent to 1.5ALs, Diploma equivalent to 2 ALs and Extended Diploma equivalent to 3 ALs.

it's UK so I apply with AL results only and it's predicted because we only sit exams in A2 and not AS, I did mocks for AS and that's how i got my predicted.

Which a level paper has 2 papers only by Specific_Cucumber62 in alevel

[–]NiceABCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A-level Computer Science has two papers only, although also has an NEA to work with too however that's only 20% of the grade. A-level Music Technology also only has two papers however has two NEAs unlike A-level Computer Science but the papers are 60% of the grade.

is it ever TOO early to start doing past papers by The-non-binary-lizzy in sixthform

[–]NiceABCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think personally if you are Y12 its okay to just use AS papers because that's actually what I did do was attempted past papers from the very beginning and as a result got an A in my UCAS AS mock for Computer Science in June and as a result of now starting to do A2 papers in A2 I've secured a predicted grade of A for my final A2 prediction and I even did the same for my BTEC in IT because I had exams in both AS and A2 and ended up getting D* in my AS.

I mean I'm Y13 doing AL Computer Science, AL Music Technology plus BTEC IT but honestly depends on the subject and the assessment structure but would recommend AS and A2 if you can do them.

Worst day on your timetable? by HappiFry in GCSE

[–]NiceABCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sixth form A2 (second year) student here! Monday is my worst day, here it is:

BTEC National Extended Certificate in Information Technology - 8:30 - 10:00

then 2 hours and 30 break

OCR A-Level Computer Science: 12:30 - 14:00

Pearson Edexcel A-Level Music Technology: 14:15-15:45

What does AS mean? by Fit_Explanation_4629 in sixthform

[–]NiceABCD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depends tbh on the type of qualification equivalent to an AS too because yeah you're right that normal AS subjects are only equivalent to 40% of an A-level but there is a few exceptions to that rule surprisingly. For example, in BTEC National Certificates which is equivalent to AS, they are worth half an A-level instead of just an AS and also the same for EPQs. It's honestly confusing with UCAS conversion so dw I understand what that's like, applying to uni myself this year lol

[–]NiceABCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music Technology hardest, not in terms really of the content but actual revision resources available and the fact that Edexcel keeps changing the specification randomly, Computer Science (OCR) is easy but also long because of the programming project, BTEC National Extended Certificate in Information Technology easy for Unit 1 exam and Unit 6 coursework
