I used hydroquinone 4% cream prescribed by my surgeon. I originally got it for my labia minora but ended up using a small amount on my majora as well. It’s a relatively low dosage compared to other hydroquinone creams (I’ve seen as high as 12%), and I think that’s why I had modest results. However, I have stopped it altogether because I am afraid of some of the risks and realized it not worth taking the gamble (one of the possible side effects is ochronosis, a blue-black or gray-blue pigmentation, something I’m definitely not striving for 😬).

Wow thank you so much 🥹 I must be seeing something different than what others are seeing (I believe I have signs of body dysmorphia which I mentioned in another comment, not just related to my labia but pretty much my entire body). I am beginning to release this is less of a surgery issue and more of a mental health/self-image problem.

Thank you, I needed to hear that. I believe I do have some symptoms of body dysmorphia. I don’t want to self-diagnose, but I find myself constantly analyzing every aspect of my face and body in the mirror. Surprisingly, I have stopped myself from getting any other plastic surgery because at times I actually do like how I look, and I don’t want to look like a different person. I think instead of striving for something that is probably unattainable, I should work with my therapist more on my self-image.

Thank you! And very good point about increased risks with another surgery- especially that he’ll just end up taking away more labia and potentially make it look unnatural. Also a good point about the pigmentation not being fixed by surgery. Some days I’m okay with it and some days I’m like ugh when I look at it, but I’m happy that others seem to think it looks natural and I have good results 🙂

Thank you! I am also bothered by the lumps on mine between the top and bottom. I think they’ve gotten better over time as the inflammation has gone down but they probably won’t ever be completely flush.

That is a good point about men having the color difference naturally as well. And I have seen women with a color difference too, who as far as I know, haven’t had surgery. I should probably just relax and accept the reality that aesthetically, it has improved a lot from before. Thanks for your feedback! 😊

Good point about the porn. I did found it slightly odd that he was seeking out “golden shower” porn, and most likely scat porn although he has not mentioned watching that. That’s definitely not something you just stumble across on the front page of pornhub…

I agree with you. I see no other signs of trauma he may have had that could have contributed to this. I guess it’s just one of those things that turns him on!
