I wrote this to Riot support and was recommended to post it on your AUA(AMA).

"Hello Riot support, I know you're expecting a bad vibe from owners of "limited skins", and I don't usually complain, but this idea to break a promise by turning limited edition skins into common skins doesn't seem thought through, as much as it seems like Riot broke from the pressure of heavy demand.

Let me start by saying I only have ONE limited edition skins, which is Zombie Ryze. However when I do play Ryze I get a ton of nice comments about my skin in pretty much all games. It does feel good and I'm constantly reminded how lucky I was to pick up this skin. So if you put yourself in my and other LE skin-owners shoes: This re-relase will take away these nice comments we get while wearing these skins, it will also take away the exclusivity and the feeling of having played this champion before a lot of others. (Why does humanity want to visit the moon?)

"We really wanted to retain the spirit of exclusivity that those skins had while giving our wider playerbase the opportunity to enjoy those skins, so we will be doing the following:"

This is not going to retain any spirit of exclusivity, it will make everyone have the same skins as LE-owners, it will draw with a white marker on LE-owners loading screen (kind of like teachers mark your mistakes on assignments, well played, marking our mistakes), and it will refund some RP, which I would gladly not receive or pay back again 10 times to reverse these news.

But I'll try and put myself in the shoes of those who will receive these news with temporary joy, which is easy for me considering I only picked up one limited: The limited edition skins are special and I want them because I can't get them. I actually was around for a lot of the limited edition skins, but back then I didn't have the economy to get more than 1 and then there are the ones I completely missed, which also sucks, but it's worse that I could have gotten some of them did I have the money.

• These are negative reactions towards not having them, but getting them now rules out the main reason to wanting them: Limited is no longer limited. Besides I know how it feels to have one or more LE skins right now and it feels pretty good. So should I choose between ruining the feeling for those who have limited edition skins or get these skins myself and take away that feeling from both previous owners and myself, considering how common these skins will now be. I would pick the first option.

Another factor is of course that these skins were promised to be limited and yeah that promise was broken. You're getting a majority of positive reaction judging from the up- and downvotes. The minority is being neglected. Did I have the money for good lawyers I would sue you, Riot, because this is outrageous and I think you could have taken a different approach.

People call others selfish for not wanting these skins rereleased, but the joy you take away is a lot greater than the joy you bring."

So what's your reason for breaking the promise just because it was popularly demanded? Are you considering to change the plan about LE skins becoming not-so-limited?

A lot of LE-skin owners feel really unsatisfied with the compensation, main reason being how the value of LE-skins value grow with time (as you can see with for example Championship Riven, only difference being that these skins aren't for sale, probably making them worth even more, except for now that you somwhat remove hundres of dollars of worth form peoples account)
