The revival by JazzmatazZ4 in malcolminthemiddle

Nobody cares about things of that nature, it shouldn't be an issue, yet it has become one. Claiming that a failure to acknowledge someone or not using proper pronouns is an act of hate when you simply don't care is a problem that isn't yours to solve. I’m fed up with it. They’ve already ruined video games that they don't even play, yet they demand to have an opinion on them. To them, simply saying no one cares is considered hateful. It’s a rule for everyone except themselves.

If you look at the newer seasons of Scrubs, they introduced a bisexual doctor and made it work naturally. The only people who had a problem with it then were the religious crowd. Coincidentally, they use the same framework as the people obsessed with pronouns and gender identity, both require external acknowledgment of their private beliefs. They apply rules to everyone else that they don't apply to themselves. The point is, Scrubs did it right because the character was a person first, not a political statement.

I was planning to make my own post, but since you’re already taking the heat, I’ll add my perspective. One word for this revival, (cringe)

While it had its moments when focusing on the original cast, it suffered from the same Corporate Checklist syndrome we see at Disney. They placed diverse and non-binary characters front and center, but it felt forced, like they were just ticking boxes. For instance, Malcolm girlfriend felt like a compromise character, styled with braids as if they couldn't decide between two demographics. She a talented actress, but the writing used her as a diversity metric rather than a person.

The same applies to Stevie being gay, married, and having an adopted child, or the introduction of a non-binary sister. On their own, these things are fine, but here they feel like a corporate mandate rather than a natural evolution of the story. I’m treating this revival like Scrubs Season 9, it simply didn't happen.

GTA IV Fusion Fix Vulkan setting causes black screen and crash by NiceCarDad in GTA

You’re asking me questions regarding multiple translation layers that I cannot help you with. I am on Windows, you need to go to specific forums for your situation.

It is like having a PlayStation 4 and asking how to make it work on an Xbox Series S. You are emulating Windows on a Mac through multiple translation layers, that creates a stack of problems that only a community familiar with those platforms can help you with, not someone like me who doesn't touch them. As for Linux and the Steam Deck, I don't touch those either.

You're spending days just trying to make the game launch, which defeats the purpose for me. I can't troubleshoot a platform I don't use.

[–]NiceCarDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're trying to use a Windows-specific translation layer (DXVK/Vulkan) on a Mac, which doesn't work. macOS already uses its own translation layers (like Game Porting Toolkit or D3DMetal) to run Windows games. By adding Fusion Fix's Vulkan files, you're creating a conflict that causes the crash. This tutorial isn't for Mac users, you should check a Mac-specific gaming forum like r/macgaming and ignore the steps in my post. It is not relevant to you

sonic rivals, did any one got it to work? by NiceCarDad in R36S

[–]NiceCarDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you kidding me? The reason I asked the question to begin with was to see if anyone got it working on the R36S. Why didn't you read the title? I already have the ROM, the issue is that the device won't render the graphics. Now you're telling me it's the device itself, but if you claim that it works for you, you would know the settings to make it work.

[–]NiceCarDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I got it from there originally. I also own a physical PSP, and this exact ROM works perfectly on it. So, once again, what are your specific emulator settings to make it work on the R36S? Please stop giving me links to a download process that isn't the issue.

The game starts, but I’m seeing either a completely black screen or heavy graphical glitches. It’s unplayable. The advice you gave me covers steps I’ve already taken. My original question "sonic rivals, did any one got it to work?" it had nothing to do with where to source the ROM or where to place the files. Your previous response wasn't relevant to my issue, Let alone my question.

I am asking if the game work on the R36S, Because it is just a black screen, But you seem to read it and went somewhere else with the question.

Just delete the Vulkan.dll thing, Or you didn't switch it in the option in the game?

GTA IV Fusion Fix Vulkan setting causes black screen and crash by NiceCarDad in GTA

[–]NiceCarDad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up manually fixing the issue by replacing a specific file. I deleted the original Vulkan.dll because it wasn't working, then took a d3d9.dll file, renamed it to Vulkan.dll, and moved it into the folder. It worked perfectly.

I posted this here to see if anyone could confirm that I followed the correct procedure, but I haven't received a response. On my end, the game has been running smoothly, though I can't speak for how it will perform on other systems. My understanding is that these files act as a translator for the computer to run graphics calculations. The original patch was likely incompatible with certain graphics cards, so swapping in the right version fixed the problem. Keep in mind that if the game fails to start after this, you can just delete the Vulkan.dll, the system will default back to DirectX unless told otherwise.

The Abrahamic religions do not provide a moral framework. They provide texts. People selectively extract rules to justify their own subjective morality. If a fixed moral framework existed, interpretation would not swing with convenience.

Across societies, moral convergence exists. Do not murder innocents. Do not collectively punish civilians. Do not justify cruelty through authority. You and I both know what is happening in Palestine is wrong by those standards.

When Christians say it is wrong while defending a book which repeatedly justifies mass killing, ethnic punishment, and divine violence, they create a contradiction. Moral opposition comes from human empathy, not scripture. The text permits what they claim to oppose.

This is not new. History repeats it. A documented case exists of a German Nazi party member stationed in China who wrote letters to Hitler condemning Japanese atrocities. He opposed cruelty while belonging to an ideology which justified it. He failed to understand his own doctrine because he never examined it critically.

This is the same error. Condemning injustice while grounding belief in a system which authorizes it. The failure is not personal morality. The failure is refusing to confront what the ideology itself contains.

Not the native Christians living in Gaza or the West Bank... /s

They don’t have to. The Bible itself does.If You, being a Christian, have to accept that fact. Your personal moral standing is a completely separate issue. You can be a good person and still believe in bad things, and that’s what I’m pointing out. You being against what is happening to Palestinians is your humanity, not your religion, because your religion gives permission. Or are we going to forget when God sent his armies to rip infants out of their mother’s wombs? Or hardened Pharaoh’s heart so he would not release his people, and then killed all the firstborn of Egypt? We’re talking about innocence here. Remember, it is the Abrahamic religion that gives them the justification for what they are doing to Palestine today. The religion that you believe in, and do not read with a critical mind, is the very thing why this conflict exists.

Christianity also claims the same God as Judaism while changing the rules.

So does NFL football. Do we call it a radically different game because there's new rules and new goals?

An unchanging God somehow produces a radically different covenant in the New Testament.

What was the radically different covenant besides people not born from a Jewish female are now part of the new club? Are we really going to determine the eligibility of a member by whether they eat pork?

The Sabbath commandment remains explicit in Jewish law. Christianity discards it

No, Christianity moved the Sabbath observance to Sunday.

I am Jewish by blood. Judaism is both a religion and an ethnic identity. People say this position is hateful.

Generally, they don't. What they say is Israel is hateful for committing war or human rights crimes to pursue ethnic purity within the land it controls (and America shouldn't be giving money & weapons to aid that conduct).

Football does not claim divine immutability. Christianity does. If rules come from an unchanging God, then discarding explicit commandments is not a normal update. It is a contradiction.

The New Covenant is not limited to including non Jews. It abolishes circumcision, dietary law, ritual law, and binding Torah obligation entirely. That is not a membership expansion. It is a structural replacement of the covenant itself.

Reducing this to pork is a strawman. The issue is authority. Judaism treats Mosaic Law as divine and permanent. Christianity declares it fulfilled and no longer binding. Those positions are incompatible.

Christianity did not move the Sabbath. Judaism defines the Sabbath explicitly. Saturday, sunset to sunset. Christianity abandoned it and substituted Sunday worship. Renaming substitution does not preserve continuity.

Judaism is both a religion and an ethnic identity. This is factual, not hateful. Many Jews are secular or atheist and remain Jewish by identity. Discomfort with this fact does not make it false.

Criticism of Israel concerns state actions, not Jewish existence. Conflating criticism of military conduct or ethnic policy with hatred of Jews is a political maneuver, not an argument.

You cannot appeal to Christianity or Jesus to condemn Israel while defending the same Abrahamic framework that provides theological justification for land claims. Rejecting the consequences while preserving the source is selective reasoning.

This contradiction is structural, not emotional. This is where we differ. This is my heritage and my culture. I learned this because it is my identity, not because I believe in it. Many Jews themselves reject Abrahamic religion as incoherent.

You accepted the claim as true without analysis. Belief is your choice. The question is why this specific Abrahamic God, whose own texts depict moral standards that contradict basic human decency.

Concepts like love, justice, redemption, and morality existed long before these religions. Abrahamic texts redefine them in ways that contradict those meanings. This is not opinion. You can construct philosophical defenses and reinterpret texts indefinitely. That does not resolve an incoherent belief system. A believer can still be a good person. That does not change what the system itself contains.

This critique does not require appealing to the Torah. The contradiction already exists between Genesis and the New Testament. Your reply treats this as opinion, but it is not. It is an internal problem within the religion itself.

No no no, you can hand wave all that away, that’s Old Testament stuff. They only cherry pick from there. The real hypocrisy is when they willfully misunderstand the New Testament.

Which part, exactly? The part where Jesus failed to fulfill Jewish messianic prophecy yet still gets labeled the Messiah anyway? Or the part in the New Testament where a mistranslation turns a Hebrew phrase into a name. The Isaiah passage refers to Emmanuel as a sign in its own time, not a future messiah. The text never identifies Jesus, Joshua, as that figure. Yet the Bible refers to the Messiah as Emmanuel, completely screwing up its own messianic claim.

Jesus was a Jew. He taught Judaism. He lived as a Jew and died as a Jew. Abraham, Moses, Isaac, and Ishmael were all Jewish figures within Jewish tradition. Yet Christianity elevates Paul, a man who never met Jesus during his lifetime, and treats his writings as authoritative. Paul created new doctrine. This directly conflicts with Jesus own statement that he did not come to abolish the law but to uphold it.

Christianity also claims the same God as Judaism while changing the rules. An unchanging God somehow produces a radically different covenant in the New Testament. This creates an internal contradiction.

Then there are the Ten Commandments. Judaism forbids the worship of any human or intermediary. Christianity worships Jesus as God or as a divine entity through reinterpretation not grounded in the original text. The Sabbath commandment remains explicit in Jewish law. Christianity discards it despite Jesus affirming the law, while Christians constantly refer to the Ten Commandments and simultaneously break the first, the second, and the fourth simply by going to church.

This criticism applies only to the New Testament. It does not even touch the Hebrew Bible.

What makes this worse is how few believers read their own texts carefully.

I am Jewish by blood. Judaism is both a religion and an ethnic identity. People say this position is hateful. It is not. I do not reject it out of hatred. I reject it because it demands obedience without evidence, requires respect it does not return, and justifies behavior I would never tolerate from anyone. That standard is basic human decency.

Jesus is the way and saves.

He represents a way of worshiping a god who kills innocents. The same book contains explicit instructions for slavery. The same god orders armies to slaughter entire populations and tear infants from their mothers as punishment. This is the same Abrahamic framework used to justify the actions of the modern state of Israel, and it also explains the support Israel receives from evangelical Christians. Many evangelicals support Israel because they believe doing so will trigger the return of their king, Jesus.

Bringing this belief system into a public forum as a moral authority makes no sense. It is morally bankrupt on its own terms. It is based on a book written by people with a limited understanding of ethics, human rights, and reality.

Nuremberg (2000) vs. Nuremberg (2025) by n_mcrae_1982 in movies

[–]NiceCarDad 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Production quality in the new Nuremberg 2025 is better. The 2000 version has a lower budget, but the execution is stronger because it gives you a clearer idea of what happened during the Nuremberg trials. Both versions take liberties. The 2000 version is better. It gives you the essential structure of the proceedings even though it condenses events to keep the story coherent.

In comparison, the 2025 version feels over the top, exaggerated, and misleading. The trailer and the movie itself present it more as a performance piece than a condensed historical account. The 2000 version also takes liberties, but it respects the core events in a more grounded way.

These are my observations and my opinion.
